Emma settled back on the couch after locking up the house and setting the alarm before turning on the T.V. and snuggling into a blanket. She had fallen asleep watching Netflix when a buzz from her cell phone startled her awake. Looking down, she saw Kyle had texted her. Hey, I am sorry for cutting you off earlier. I wanted to say good night and be the first to wish you a happy birthday. I can't wait to see you tomorrow. If you need help, don't hesitate to ask your friendly neighborhood firefighter. She smiled before glancing at the time: 12:30 AM. She yawned, shut off the T.V., walked into her bedroom, and hit reply. Thanks for even apologizing. It wasn't needed. You were at work!
