Witch

~Noah’s POV~

I woke up early and got out of the packhouse. I want to run in my wolf form. It’s been days since I last ran in my wolf and my wolf kitty, Duke was finally happy.

I removed my clothes, shifted into my jet-black wolf, and ran in the forest for almost half an hour. Running after 15 days feels amazing.

On my way back to the packhouse, I saw the cabin in which Serena is staying. I went towards the cabin’s window and nodded to the guard signaling him to leave for a while.

She was still asleep. She was curled on the bed and looked so tiny. Her face was covered with a few hair strands, she looks beautiful like an angel.

After watching her more closely, I saw her face was stained with tears, she was crying. She slept crying. My heart broke seeing her like this, she didn’t deserve this.

“You are right, she didn’t deserve any of this. We need to help our mate.”

“Duke, I told you I don’t accept her as my mate but I’ll help her. She will meet the pack today and later Taylor will start her training.”

Duke went silent and I left that place.

Taylor and Peter were standing outside the packhouse and they both looked tensed.

“What happened?"

“Samantha is here alpha. She is waiting for you outside your office.” Peter spoke.

I sighed and told Peter to increase the security of the pack and told Taylor to come with me.

Samantha was waiting for me outside my office, she was surrounded by the guards.

“Follow me”.

I sat on my chair and Taylor took his seat.

I spoke to Samantha, “You are not supposed to be on my pack land without informing me or my Beta, witch. You know you can be taken into my custody for this.”

She hummed, “I know Alpha Black. But you know my concerns very well, you were not answering my calls. You killed my mother and now you are pretending that you didn’t do anything.”

“I’m not pretending. I already told you why she was killed. She ruined my family, my life and you thought that I’ll leave her for doing this to me. Leave or else I’ll kill you as well.”

Taylor mind-linked me, “Calm down alpha, I know you are not liking any of this but you can’t threaten to kill her. We will find a solution. Calm down for now.”

Samantha smiled and said “You know you can’t kill me alpha. Council will not leave you.”

Taylor scoffed, “Like you are leaving him alone.”

Samantha said, “We need to come to a mutual decision Beta Taylor otherwise it will continue like this and then this will become a war.”

I mind-linked Taylor “Who is threatening now huh?”

Taylor spoke, “Do you think that we are scared of your empty threats?”

“They are not empty threats Beta Taylor, my mother was an experienced and honorable witch. Each one of us is upset about her death. She was my mother and if Alpha Black can kill anyone for his family, then I can kill anyone for my family too.”

I was having a hard time controlling Duke. He wants to come out and kill her right here for threatening us in our own clan.

“Samantha if this is going to be a war then it’s a war. Now get the f**k out of my land and don’t you DARE show your face again. Leave now!” I said in my alpha voice.

Samantha shoot daggers with her eyes and said before leaving, “Think about the mutual decision alpha otherwise you won’t like the outcome of the war”.

I destroyed my office. How dare she threaten me on my land and got away like nothing happened. If it wasn't for that f*****g council... I would have killed her right here.

Taylor was waiting for me to cool down. He looked around the office and sighed. He took his phone out and called someone to fix my office.

Taylor said, “You need to calm down alpha. We can’t start a war right now. You know Serena is here and she already had enough of witches and warlocks. We can’t risk her in between all of this. I’ll handle this.”

He is right I can’t risk Serena’s life. She already had enough of everything. I can't let my disputes affect her. I won’t let anything happen to her.

Two days passed. Taylor was still working on that witch’s case. He came into my office and said, “I talked to the witch community and they agree to an agreement. They are demanding 10 million dollars as compensation.”

I growled, “10 million dollars for that b***h who ruined my family, who ruined my childhood, who killed my father!”

“I know what you are thinking alpha but what happened years ago can’t affect your or our clan’s present and future. Think about Serena, a warlock is already after her and if any witch found her, they will try to take her.”

The thought of Serena getting hurt made my blood boil, and I smashed the table. 10 million dollars is nothing for me when it comes to the people I care about.

"So you care about Serena, that's great," Duke said.

"It's not about Serena only, it's about my clan."

I told Taylor to compensate them and tell them to never contact me again. I can’t risk Serena’s and pack's life.

Taylor was leaving when I asked him if he visited her or not. His shoulders slumped down and with this look of his... I can tell he didn't.

“I was busy dealing with this issue. Samantha was not agreeing easily. I don’t know what Serena must be thinking right now but I’ll visit her tomorrow.”

I nodded and he left.

I left my office looking for a distraction. My eyes landed on Vanessa who was sitting on the couch in the living room and she gave me her sexy smile but I don’t know why that smile didn’t attract me anymore.

“It’s because you know she is not the one for you, you won’t find her attractive anymore. Serena is the one for us, she should be here with us. She is our mate.”

“Duke I already told you what I feel about her. I don’t want her. You know how I feel about mates. Don’t force me, you wanted her here protected, she is here safe and sound. And Vanessa still looks amazing. She is the distraction that I need.”

I cut off the mind link and went towards Vanessa, took her to my room, and f****d her.

I was having my way with her but still, my mind was constantly drifting to Serena. Vanessa noticed my distraction and asked, “What happened alpha? You are distracted. Everything alright?”

I sighed, “Yes, just pack work.”

“You know, you can talk to me alpha.”

I rolled my eyes, “I told you it’s just s*x between us nothing else.”

“But alpha I”- I gave her a stern look and she went quiet.

She sat, “I should leave now”.

I nodded.

She got dressed and left. I went to take a shower and tried not to think about Serena.
