*Gina* I don’t dare return to the room, not until I hear the snore. It is a soft hum, more the purring of a large cat than the snorting I have heard from drunkards who fall asleep in the corner of my establishment. Waking them so they can stagger home is never any great enjoyment. If the chap is a regular customer, someone I like well enough, I will give him leave to sleep it off where he has landed. Besides, it makes Robin feel important when tasked with the chore of keeping an eye on the inebriated blokes for me, as though he is guarding my place from villains.
