30. Misunderstanding

“It’s really unnecessary. I can just go home,” Alyia insisted. Hideki left Riko with his secretary and asked him to take her home, offering to take care of Alyia by himself. Alyia wished to go home and rest, but Hideki worried about her swollen wrist. “You can’t leave it untreated,” Hideki argued with her, helping Alyia out of the car in front of the hospital. Since her mother’s sickness, she felt uneasy whenever she got close to hospitals. Alyia visited the hospital countless times before her mother passed away. The disinfectants and meds’ scent incised a deep mark in her mind. Just being inside the hospital made her feel sick. “I really can’t,” Alyia said, turning around, trying to get out of the hospital, back on the street, back to the fresh air. Her hastened breath startled Hideki.
