Chapter 8: Guys

Ottilie POV After Jamie left me I let out a shaky breath and leaned against the wall, my legs threatening to give way. That had been one of the most intense o*****s of my life. I'd had little contact with Jamie over the years but it was like he could see into my mind. He knew exactly how to touch me, where to kiss me and goddess, his tongue. I blushed as I remembered how it had felt between my legs. What was wrong with me? A week ago you couldn't have paid me to go near them, now my body bended to their every will. I hated myself for it, now it was over and I could see clearly, I felt repulsed by what I'd done. I don't know how many times I have to tell you this, Ariana said softly, they're our mates. The sooner you accept them the better because once they shift, you know what will happen. I stopped what I was doing, S**t I hadn't thought about my heat. As much as I didn't want to admit it, I knew in my deepest heart of hearts they were my mates. It was obvious, the fact that when I wasn't around them I craved them and when they were around I just wanted them close to me, touching me. Although the bond was weaker than it would have been if I could shift, once the triplets shifted it could trigger my heat. I had to get away before that happened or there would be no going back. Ariana whined in my head, the moon goddess said to trust them, she loves you and I love you, please listen to us. Tears pricked my eyes, it had been years since anyone had told me they loved me. I'm sorry Ariana I can't, you weren't there for the years of neglect and abuse, I just can't trust them, I replied tearfully, stepping out of the shower and wrapping myself up in a big fluffy towel. You're right, she said softly, but I can see all of your memories, I can feel everything you're feeling now and I still think you should trust them. Just consider it please? She begged me. Ok, I said reluctantly, I promise not to make any hasty decisions. She smiled at me gratefully and settled down quietly. I stepped back into Noah's bedroom, panicking as I remembered I had no clean clothes before spotting something on the bed that hadn’t been there before. There was a pile of clothes and a note, "I figured you'd need something to wear for school today, hope I got the right size, N x". I picked up the matching lacy black underwear and grinned despite myself, so predictable. I pulled on a pair of tight black skinny jeans that fit perfectly and a black cropped t-shirt with a black biker jacket on top. There were matching black biker boots too from a brand called All Saints that had a slight heel which even though I hated to admit, I loved. Clearly I was dressing like a goth today but that was fine, black to match my mood I thought wryly. I had no make-up or brush so I scooped my curls up into a messy bun and pinched my pale cheeks to add some colour to them. That will have to do I said to myself, standing in front of the mirror before leaving the safety of Noah's room and making my way downstairs. You look hot, purred Ariana, nice work Noah, I always knew there was a baddass chick underneath those baggy clothes. I grumbled a bit but took the compliment, it was nice having someone on my side for once. I walked quietly down to the entrance hall, I really didn't want to bump into anyone I knew but it turns out the goddess had other plans for me. Tanya was standing in the hallway talking to Harry, one hand on his arm. I couldn't hear what she was saying but by the way she was leaning towards him I could tell it was flirty. Although he didn't exactly look enthralled, he wasn't pushing her away either. As I walked into the room his mouth fell open with shock. Tanya turned to see what he was looking at, a scowl spreading across her face as she looked me up and down. "Oh look, the ugly duckling appears to have had a makeover," she said softly, "who did you steal those from then? Actually come to think of it, I'm missing a leather jacket and boots just like that from my wardrobe." She stepped towards me nastily, her eyes narrowing and flashing yellow, almost snake like. I growled loudly shocking her but before either of us could say anything I felt an arm snake around me, pulling me close, a familiar smell of pinecones and eucalyptus filling my senses. "Impossible," said Noah icily, "I got them for her yesterday, you're full of s**t Tanya," he added. "Come on, I'll give you a ride to school." I said nothing, and just smiled passively at Tanya's furious face as we walked past her and out of the door. Harry looked livid, pushing Tanya away from him and rushing out after us. "She's coming with me," he growled as he reached us, "and what the hell do you think you're wearing, every unmated wolf at school will be after you." A familiar feeling of rage started to build as I turned towards Harry. "Excuse me?" I drawled, "are you serious? You have no right to tell me what to wear, I'm not your girlfriend or your sister or anything to you, just back off." I spat at him. There was nothing I hated more than a man who felt he could comment on what a woman was wearing. I noticed that Tanya had followed him out, watching us with an odd look on her face. Before he could react, I ran around the side of Noah's black Range Rover and jumped in, Noah followed quickly and after seeing the look on my face drove off without saying anything. Even though the school was within the pack borders, it usually took me about an hour to walk there every day. I watched the trees go whizzing past the tinted windows, seeing with interest the new housing developments that had sprung up in recent years. I hadn't been in a car since my parents had left and I usually walked the back way to school so it was a bit of a shock seeing how much had changed. We stopped at a small cafe on the outskirts of the town. "Come on." said Noah jovially, "I'm starving and you must be too." In response my stomach growled, it was true. Since I'd got my wolf my appetite had increased tenfold, not hard given I was used to eating very little but still, the thought of breakfast made me almost salivate. Walking in I was hit by the smell of coffee and freshly baked pastries. Ariana started to do little laps around my head making me giggle. Noah looked at me questioningly "My wolf," I said reluctantly, "Ariana, she's hungry." "Ariana," said Noah slowly, as he guided me into a corner booth, "what a stunning name, I can’t wait to meet her." Ariana purred, delighted by the compliment. Mate likes our name, she said, skipping a little as she bounced around my head. A waitress greeted us enthusiastically, a little too enthusiastically, she basically ignored me as she handed Noah the menus and ran through a huge amount of detail about the specials. I rolled my eyes and ignored her, watching as another Range Rover pull up outside. Jamie jumped out strode purposefully towards the entrance of the cafe. I looked questioningly at Noah, I wasn't sure I could handle two of them at once right now. He ignored me and turned to the waitress. "Two black coffees and two orange juices. I'll have eggs benedict, what about you Tills?" I looked at him scowling, annoyed that he'd even attempt to order for me. He smiled, "The drinks are for Jamie," he explained as Jamie squeezed in on the other side of me. "Oh," I said in a small voice, "Urm, can I have the same please?" I shrank back in my seat as the woman glared at me. I had no idea what Jamie had ordered but the menu was huge and the thought of having to go through it all was just too much. "And I'll have scrambled eggs and bacon," said Jamie flashing a smile at the waitress making her eyelashes flutter even faster, she'd take off at this rate if she wasn't careful. She finally walked off, leaving the three of us in silence. My nerves got the better of me and I picked up a napkin and started to shred it, looking anywhere but at the Alpha's. "Ottilie, before you completely destroy that napkin, we should probably have a chat," said Jamie kindly, taking it from my hands. "We should?" I said sulkily, refusing to meet his gaze. "Yes," said Noah on the other side of me, putting his hand on my denim clad thigh. Something inside me clenched and he smirked, enjoying the effect he was having on me. I looked up at them both and sighed, "Fine," I said, "Go ahead." Jamie hesitated as the waitress put down our drinks, waiting until she'd walked away he began. "We spoke to our parents this morning, we want you to know that you won't be going back to work for the pack, at least not until you want to." I stared at him, "what do you mean?" I whispered, I hated working in the kitchens but at least it gave me something to do, it was better than sitting in my room all day. "You're a member of this pack Ottilie," he said softly, taking my hand, sending shocks up and down my spine. "I'm sorry that you've not been treated like one but I promise that will change. Also, you're moving rooms, you don't have to go back to that attic room ever again." I looked at him dumbfounded, it was a lot to take in. "You're welcome," Noah grinned at me taking a big slurp of coffee. "It should be ready by the time you get home from school." "But why now." I asked rubbing my eyes, totally and utterly confused. "You ignored me for six years and now all of a sudden you want to save me? Why now?” I repeated. Both of them faltered, their eyes filling with guilt, Jamie was the one to speak first. "Because the way you've been treated is disgusting," he said firmly, his voice cracking slightly, "and we can’t begin to try and explain how sorry we are that we haven't been there for you. Even if your parents did what they did it doesn't make you the same. We should have had the balls to stick up for you but we can only try and put it right now." I sat in silence unable to look at them. It was a lot to take in and I still didn't trust them but what other options did I have? I had no money, I didn't have a car, I didn't even have ID. How could I exist outside of this pack? The waitress put our food down in front us. We ate quietly, the boys looking at each other with worried expressions, probably wondering when I would explode next, I was like a ticking time bomb at the moment. We need to get laid, said Ariana, stretching out and groaning with pleasure as she did, it’s not natural to be around our mates and to not go for a ride, she added cheekily. I rolled my eyes but didn’t say anything, it was nice having her around and I seemed to have a knack for p*****g her off. After Jamie paid, I murmured my thanks and basically ran to Noah's car. Their presence was suffocating yet at the same time I wanted to be near them constantly, it was literally the most confusing thing on the planet. Noah climbed in and started up the engine, "Come on," he said gently, "let's get you to school."
