Harry POV
After school I headed to the gym to get rid of some of the building aggression I was struggling to contain. I hadn’t meant to lash out at Ottilie but smelling my brother on her right after she’d humiliated me in front of the whole school had sent me into a spiralling rage. For some twisted reason I loved it when she fought back, it turned me on in a way I couldn’t explain.
I turned up the resistance on the rowing machine and pushed through the pain. I was so immersed in what I was doing that I didn’t hear someone come in, a hand on my shoulder made me jump through the roof and before I knew what I was doing I had the intruder up against the wall by the throat. Of course, Tanya. Who else would have snuck up on me like that. She licked her lips and winked at me, clearly enjoying the feeling of my hands wrapped around her neck.
“What the f**k Tanya,” I said, releasing her and stepping back, “I could have killed you.”
She smiled at me evilly, “Oh don’t stop there Harry, you know I like it a little rough.” She snaked towards me, running her hands down my bare chest. I pushed her away, in the past I might have gone there but now for some reason her touch repulsed me.
“Cut it out Tanya, I’m not in the mood.” I lied turning from her to pull my t-shirt back on. I didn’t know why but the thought of being even semi naked around her seemed wrong.
“I don’t get it Harry, last week you were perfectly happy to f**k me and this week it’s like I don’t exist, what gives?” She looked at me accusingly, her hands on her hips. There was not doubt that she was beautiful. She had an incredible figure from all the training she did and an incredible cloud of blonde hair, styled to perfection at all times. She appeared to wear little make up but I’d seen her put it on the mornings when she thought I was still asleep so I knew how much effort she really put in to her appearance.
“It’s Alpha Harry to you,” I snarled, taking her by surprise. “Back off Tanya, you’re pushing your luck.”
“Fine,” her eyes narrowed at me suspiciously. “So tell me then, what are you going to do about the omega traitor b***h?” She asked changing tact.
“I’ll handle it,” I grunted, avoiding eye contact and picking up my stuff to make my way out of the gym.
“Well you need to, you can’t let her disrespect you like that in front of the whole school, it doesn’t exactly do much for your image.” She had a point but suddenly the thought of actually hurting Ottilie filled me with dread.
“I said I’ll handle it Tanya, you’re overstepping, leave it alone,” I warned, my eyes flashing at her as I left her standing there in the middle of the gym.
I rubbed my head tiredly as I walked back to my room. Tanya was a headache that I really couldn't be bothered to handle right now.
Where are you? I asked Noah and Jamie, opening up the mind link.
In my room, said Jamie immediately, do you want to talk?
Yeah, I replied, I’m on my way.
Noah stayed silent, obviously he was still p****d from earlier but that was fine, he could stay p****d. It wasn’t my problem.
Jamie POV
It had been a day. Unsurprisingly Ottilie was having issues trusting us. I’d shown her to her new room when we’d got back from school and she’d all but pushed me out before slamming the door in my face. I got it, she needed space, but I had this overwhelming need to pick her up and lie her down on the huge four poster bed in her room before taking her over and over again, the moans from earlier on echoing in my head.
A knock at the door startled me out of my daydream, I’d been back a couple of hours and had every intention of playing some Red Dead Redemption but the PlayStation controller had sat in my hands, the opening credits to the game repeating themselves.
“Hi man,” said Harry, flopping down beside me, “Oh cool, can I play?” I wordlessly handed him the controller. We sat in silence for about half an hour as I watched him play before I remembered that he’d wanted to talk.
“Did you want to talk about something dude?” I asked quietly. He paused the game and put the controller down sighing.
“Yeah we probably should, where’s Noah?”
“I think he’s with Tills, I heard some shouting earlier and then silence, I guess he’s still in her room.”
His face tightened as he glanced towards the door, almost as if he was going to sprint out of it and pull her from Noah’s arms.
“You need to chill with her man, Noah told me what you said to her in class, it’s not ok. She obviously feels some sort of connection to all of us.”
He sighed and wrenched his gaze away from the door. “I know. I can’t help myself though, she gets right up under my skin and when she fights back, goddess,” he breathed, “It’s the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen, I just want to punish her over and over again for her behaviour.”
I smirked a bit and he looked at me with an eyebrow raised. “Something you want to share brother?” He asked.
“You’ll find out soon enough, let’s just say that if you play it right, I don’t think that’s something she’d have a problem with.” I grinned as his breathing quickened before he looked miserable again.
“That’s if she’ll let me anywhere near her, after today I think I’ve really blown it.” He said, putting his head in his hands and groaning.
“Give her time and maybe back off a bit.” I suggested. “I did want to talk to you about something though, a couple of things actually. Did you notice what happened when you released your Alpha aura at her?”
He nodded. “Yeah I’ve been thinking about it all day. Why didn’t it affect her? Her parents were Beta’s right so she should have submitted like everyone else, unless there’s something that we don’t know?”
I rubbed my eyes, “I mean there’s a high chance we haven’t gotten a full story from our parents, it’s not like they’re exactly forthcoming on the subject of Ottilie and her family."
He sat up straight, the vein in his neck pulsing slightly. Harry was the ‘black sheep’ in our family and our parents had never really been kind to him. They’d not been horrible to him either, they’d just ignored him which was so much worse. Because of this his behaviour had gotten worse over the years. Acting out to get your parents attention wasn’t exactly a new thing for a kid to do but despite his antics becoming more and more outrageous as he'd grown up, he’d faced no repercussions for his behaviour.
“I don’t think he’s going to hand over to us on our birthday. He’s refused to delegate anything to us so far and every time one of us mentions it he looks incredibly shifty and just changes the subject.” There it was out there, the topic we’d avoided for months.
Harry nodded. “I agree, he wants to cling on for as long as he can. Even mum’s being funny about planning our birthday party, she loves party planning too so you would have thought this would have been right up her street.”
“You know what will happen if he refuses to hand over right?” I said, my chest tightening at the thought of it.
“We have to challenge him,” replied Harry softly, “do you think the elders will support us?”
“They have to if we win. Those are ancient laws that even they wouldn’t dare violate.”
We both sat in silence for a little while.
“Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that,” said Harry quietly. “In the meantime I’ll do some digging into Ottilie’s family, something just doesn’t feel right and to be honest it’s probably better that I stay out of her way for now.”
I nodded, “I agree, sounds like a plan dude.”
Harry picked up the PlayStation controller and threw it at me. “Come on, show me how to finish this mission then.”
