Frankie Tears ran down my cheeks as I left Clayton’s room. Hazel is in my head, whimpering sadly. We have more or less just been rejected by our mate. I lean against a wall in the hallway to compose myself before going downstairs. I don’t want Tyler and the others to see their alpha crying like a baby. I wipe the tears off my cheeks, take a couple of deep breaths, and head downstairs. Mom is sitting in the living room talking to Beverly. “We’re leaving, Mom,” I say to her in a harsh tone. “What happened, Francine?” Mom looks up at me with a glass of wine in her hand. “We’re leaving,” I repeat.
