Caris followed him silently back to the cabin and even though a million questions filtered through her now scattered brain, she kept her lips closed tightly. Had he felt even an iota of what she’d just experienced? Likely not. To him, she was a challenge and something he would be bored with quickly. Once he got to do with her what he’d wanted all along, she’d be nothing to him.
She’d just agreed to seven kisses with the devil and after one she was ready to call Ryder and run away with her tail between her legs.
When they reached the cabin, she pushed past him, kicked off her boots, and made her way quickly to the spare bedroom where she’d stashed all her belongings wishing the door locked when she gently closed it behind her. She suddenly felt a need to escape and hide from him.
