Alpha Derrick's POV
I sighed loudly as I tore my eyes from the green trees that stretched out miles away making up part of the Hilder Forest. The cool evening breeze filled my nostrils as I took in another uneasy breath. It forced a sneeze out of me.
I groaned as my eyes caught the bloodied spot at the back of my hand. I quickly wiped them off while looking around to make sure no one was in sight. It's been two days since we escaped Evans and I'm getting no better. My wolf, Bane, is still struggling to heal us. I somehow knew I'd transferred bit of the poison from Sophie into myself when my power returned. My heart grew heavier at every sight of Sophie, knowing full well of her state, she still moved around as cheerful and happy as always refusing to let it way her down.
