Knowing that she was not wanted, Raina went into the library and looked through the books she had not yet read about the history of The Hall.
There were several of them, some very old, and she was fascinated by the number of distinguished people who had been entertained at one time or another in the house.
Queens, Presidents, Rulers from abroad and what seemed to her to be half the aristocracy of England. There had been balls, shoots, steeplechases and garden parties.
