(Derek turned 2)
"Mama Up! Up!!" The little ray of sunshine as they called him asked Mia to hold him.
Mia took Baby Derek into her arms and blew kisses on both his cheeks. His giggles are so contagious that Mia and Jaxon giggled too.
"Mama stop" he giggled more while Jaxon laughed.
"Derek! There is good news for you. Wanna hear?'' Jaxon asked his son who is almost a replica of him.
"What dada?" Derek's eyes grew curious.
"I go out now?'' Derek asked excitedly because his dad and mom never really allowed him to go out. They always said it's dangerous out there.
"No kiddo. But you are getting a little sister!!'' Mia whispered.
"Little sister? Where?'' Here goes his questions. He often asks so many questions that Jaxon couldn't answer sometimes.
"She is with the Moon Goddess now. In 4 months you will meet her. Are you excited?" Jaxon asked Derek.
"Yes. I like little sister. I be her bubba. I play with her" Derek clapped with his chubby little hands.
"Ok now Go play with Kevin and Kian. Mommy needs rest'' Jaxon said.
"Wuv you Mama. Wuv you Papa" Derek blew kisses on both his parent's cheeks and left to play with Tyler and Skye's twin children Kevin and Kian.
Jaxon and Mia were always worried about Derek's growth. He was growing at a faster rate. He is just 2 but looks like 4 and his vocabulary is already taking perfect shape. Werewolf children often grew up faster but Derek's is just far more.
They didn't send him out that often and he doesn't know how the outside world is. All he ever does is play with Kevin and Kian. They grew up together and sometimes they sleep together without their parents.
"I am glad he took it well," Jaxon whispered, looking at Mia.
"Yeah. I was worried how he is gonna take it" Mia whispered back and leaned into Jaxon.
Derek being a Lunar Wolf and the most powerful one at that, often had temper issues. They were cute first but later on he was so persistent about everything around him. And since he has the power to control weather, he unknowingly bought a storm in the pack.
That is the strong reason why Jaxon and Mia never allowed him to go out.
Regardless, they love Derek more than anything. They call him little ray of Sunshine and Derek would always giggle beautifully whenever they call him that.
"Dada! Mama!! See this" Derek excitedly came to his parents.
"Oh My! What is it Derek?" Mia softly asked him.
"The sun! I draw Sun mama" Derek said with an innocent toothy grin.
"This is so beautiful. Good Job. Let's frame this and hang it in your room, huh?'' Jaxon said .
"Yes Dada!" Derek yelled and gave his dad a high-five.
Derek and Jaxon are best friends first and Dad & son next. They often have serious conversations about The Avengers and The Twilight Saga. Derek was once so angry because Bella didn't choose Jacob and the sky was filled with Thunders all the night.
"Let me give this to Uncle Elijah and ask him to frame this then" Jaxon said holding the piece of paper
Mia looked at her husband and son. Her heart filled with love. She never thought the day would come where her son would grow up like his dad. But now, seeing how much Derek loves his dad, she often thinks she is outcast.
"Hello hello! I'm here too.'' Mia playfully acted like she was offended.
"Oh really?" Jaxon asked, playing along.
"Derek loves me more than you , so stop the act" Jaxon stuck his tongue out.
"Ok! Let's do the love test" Mia said.
"You said it yourself," Jaxon chuckled.
They both sat on the couch. They made Derek sit on the chair a little far from them. They already instructed Derek to go to the one he likes the most when the countdown ends. Derek was excited to play this game.
"Ready Derek?'' Jaxon asked and the little Ray of Sunshine nodded excitedly.

"Go!'' Mia yelled and stretched her arms so Derek could run into her arms.
Derek was smart enough for his age. He thought to make it more fun so he ran in the direction of his mom first. And Mia already started her winning celebrations. When he was 2 steps away he ran into Jaxon's arms.
"Dada! Dada! Dada!" He shouted while running to his dad.
"Here comes my Ray of Sunshine" Jaxon kissed his son who resembled a tomato with all the laughing he did today.
"Who lost the game? Who lost the game?" Jaxon asked when he already knew the answer.
"Mama," Derek laughed.
Both Father and Son stuck their tongues at Mia who faked anger. She playfully glared at Jaxon while Mindlinking him at the same time. She called him a show stealer and that he took her place in Derek's heart.
Jaxon laughed and put Derek down.
"Mama. But I wuv you too" Derek said, hugging Mia's legs and those words took it all for Mia to burst her beautiful smile and take Derek into her arms.
Mia often feels that Moon Goddess brought a change in Jaxon with Derek's birth. Now Jaxon practically lives for Derek. There is nothing more Mia could ask for but Moon Goddess blessed her with another blessing in the form of a second child.
And they believe Moon Goddess never makes mistakes.
