A small sigh left my lips as I slowly leaned back, my eyes closing. We were out of the mall and simply sitting in the car.
"Nikolai?"
He slowly turned to me, his eyes thinning a little.

I gave a small shrug, then laughed, shaking my head. "Just making sure you are still here."
"What are you going to do about your mother?"
He met my eyes, and they have turned serious, almost as if he was dreading the topic.
"I almost forgot I couldn't just live with you forever."
He smiled, pushing his fingers through his hair. "I do hope you are ready to stand up for me if she decides to acquire you forcefully."
