I gave a small yelp as I broke my own fall as I grabbed unto the edge of the window, my body hanging off the building. I looked down, my chest heaving, my body lightly trembling with the soft evening breeze. I was sweaty despite it, and my heart thundered in my chest. The decision was, however, made for me as I heard my room door swing open. A curse left my lips, and I turned, letting go of the window. I flung myself away from the wall, my eyes closing as the wind rushed at me, my hair flying behind me. Maybe I was being irrational, stupid. But this, it felt better than anything I had felt in years. It was second only to the things Nikolai was capable of making me feel.
