Chapter Eleven

574 Words
The room I've been sleeping in must have been Victoria's.  The whole theme of this bedroom was sunflowers which gave me the clue. I had to wait four days until my next day off of work. I waited until Jane left, then headed out to the backyard. I quickly went into the garden shed and grabbed the first shovel I could find. Jane had a big garden of flowers and a cute wooden bench in the middle of it. Though most of the flowers have died due to it being cold in November. The ground was also hard, which made digging a bit more difficult. I was digging up the area where she had sunflowers at. My heart was racing as I dug deeper and deeper. I know I should be pacing myself due to my lungs and ribs finally healing, but I was to anxious. I started getting dizzy and was about to call it a quits until I hit something hard. Bingo.  There was what looked like a handmade wooden box. It wasn't too big, but it as heavy. I couldn't pull it out of the ground, so i just opened it where it laid. As I opened it, a flash of white light engulfed me. "Hello?" I ask looking around. How did I end up back inside Jane's house? I hear yelling coming from Jane's bedroom. I quietly walk over and see a little girl peeking into the room. Victoria.  I try to tap her shoulder, but my hand goes right through her like a ghost. Am I dreaming? I stood next to Victoria as we listened and watched the scene unfold in her parents room. "You want a divorce?!?!" I hear Jane yell. "Yes. I've been unhappy for a long time. I love you, but I'm not in love with you. I'm so sorry." He gave Jane a hug as I saw her grab a pair of scissors from inside her dresser draw they were near.  "Oh, you will be!"  "What are you doi- *Gasp* I wanted to hug Victoria at that moment. She just witnessed her mother cutting her father's throat. Unfortunately for us, Jane heard the gasp that came from her daughter.  I stood in front of the little girl to protect her. Completely forgetting that neither of them can see me.  "DADDY!!!! Victoria went to run to him, but Jane grabbed her and threw her over her should. "Mommy!!! Stop!!" she cried out , kicking to be let down.  I followed them to the bathroom. Jane was not letting her little girl down as she turned the tub on.  I tried yelling at her to stop and tried turning the water off.  My heart was breaking seeing Victoria screaming and crying for her life.  *SPLASH* Jane threw Victoria into the tub and forced her head underneath the water. I tried punching and kicking; anything to get this woman off this innocent child. I was screaming and crying. How could a mother do this to their own child? The movement in the tub stopped. She was dead.  I opened my eyes as if I was sleeping, but I was still in the hole I dug in the backyard.  Looking down, was clearly the bones of a child. I fell to my knees, and cried for her.  "Thank you" I hear I was startled as I looked up and saw Victoria standing on the ground above me.  "Thank you for setting me free, Amy" she smiled down at me.  I wiped my tears and gave her a smile as she vanished into thin air.  "What is going on back here?!" Jane.
