Ever so slowly a smile creeped on to Leon's face. Andiamo on the other hand was so surprised by what she had just said that he slightly dropped his hand away from Milan's face. He stared at her for a brief minute before he started to laugh again. His laugh this time however was a lot more angry and had a sadistic tinge to it, as if he was preparing to hurt someone in a barbaric way and enjoy every second of it. Milan didn't seem to be the only one who noticed it because no one else in the room laughed, instead they uncomfortably shuffled on their feet as they gave each other awkward glances.
"You," he began once he had sobered up, "are Alfonso Mancini's daughter?"
His face had significantly darkened and he looked as if he was about to kill anyone who made a sound.
"Yes," Milan said as she looked Andiamo straight in the eyes.
Her answer seemed to anger Andiamo even further, he lifted his hand and was about to strike her when Leon spoke.
"Don't you dare touch her," he spat as he suddenly appeared on the stage. All of Andiamo's men suddenly had their hands on their guns, ready to draw the moment Leon posed as a threat. Andiamo on the other hand, dropped his hand and angrily turned to face Leon. If looks could kill, Leon would have been six feet under.
"Don't interfere with my business," Andiamo warned him. "The consequences will not be pretty."
"If your business involves my people, I will interfere."
Leon walked in between Milan and Andiamo and turned to face the dangerous man.
"Your people?" Andiamo scoffed. "Don't tell me you believe this girl's stories."
"She is my fiancé," Leon said, causing Milan's eyes to widen, "of course I believe her."
A few gasps were heard from the crowd of people who were watching the show with wide-eyes. Some of them were enjoying the show whereas the others who were more familiar with the mafia were shaking. They knew that if things became even messier, then none of them would make it out alive. They silently prayed that everything would end without weapons being drawn.

A few gasps were heard throughout the hall. Some of the audience members were enjoying the show with wide eyes. However, the rest who were familiar with the mafia's ways were shaking in their feet. They knew that if the situation became messier, then none of them would be able to make it out of there alive. They silently prayed that it would all end before either one of the parties became angrier than they were.
"Don't mess with me, Alexiou. I do not want to announce enmity with you."
"I can attest for her. You know of my relationship with the Mancini family. I would be able to recognize her any day."
"The Mancini girl is dead," Andiamo said, beginning to feel frustrated. "She has been for five years now."
"I am alive," Milan spoke, interrupting the two men. She turned to face Andiamo as she spoke. "Look, you can kill me right now but you will risk offending Alfonso Mancini. Do you really want to offend your boss?"
Andiamo looked beyond angry at being spoken so disrespectfully by a girl, however, he was smart enough to realize she had a point.
"Fine, you are free to go," he nodded, easily agreeing with Milan. "But your friend stays."
Milan was about to say something but Andiamo continued to speak. "If you really are Don Alfonso's daughter, I will set her free. But if I find out you are lying, I will skin your friend alive and feed you her carcass."
Once again, Andiamo had managed to make Milan feel disgusted. She turned to Leilani and gave her a reassuring look. She knew Leilani's personality so she silently prayed that her friend would behave and wouldn't offend any of the men. There was an unidentifiable expression of Leilani's face but she smiled at Milan nonetheless. The agents all had unconditional trust for one another and Leilani knew that even if Milan was lying, she would still find a way to save her.
"Deal," Milan swallowed, "but you better not hurt a single strand of her hair."
Alfonso's eyes darkened, unhappy at being disrespected by the girl once again. However, he was already planning the worse possible ways to hurt her so he simply nodded before he watched her walk off the stage with Leon.
Once they were out of sight, Milan turned to Leon with an angry look in her eyes.
"I'm not some damsel in distress that needs your help," Milan glared at him. "With or without you, would have still made it out of there alive."
Leon chuckled before he looked down at her with softening eyes, "It's nice to see you too, Princess."
Milan rolled her eyes at his old pet name before she cross her arms.
"You recognized me."
"Since the runway."
"You were there?" her eyes widened, and she felt her skin warm.
"I was."
A comfortable silence passed between them but was broken when Milan suddenly remembered something.
"Wait, since when was I your fiancé?" she asked him, a look of annoyance on her face.
Leon grinned down at his old friend, "Since the day you were born."
