Elijah I should have been overjoyed to be holding that heavy bronze hairpin. That was it! That was the thing! But after the initial thrill, something about that hairpin just made me feel… heavy and anxious. I rolled it up inside my sweater, and after making sure that the grave hole was filled back in, we all rushed back to the control center van to see what Brendan was all worked up over. As we approached, Brendan jumped out of the back, his face flushed with excitement, and checked the cables that were running into the school. “Elijah! Finally! What took you so long? You’ve missed the best of it. I’ve got most of the cameras back online now…” He jumped back into the van and I saw that several of the static cameras were either showing nothing but static, or had gone completely black. “Le
