Chapter Eight: The Golden Lotus

Elijah The Golden Lotus was located just outside of the city, next to an upscale shopping center. Its big blooming lotus signage poked up over the center, making it easy to spot from the street. We pulled into the parking lot. Our white van looked out of place among all the sports cars, beamers, and caddies lined up in front of the building. Sliding out of the driver’s seat, I smoothed down my hair. I’d put on a long-sleeved shirt and my best pair of trousers. Jeremy had even gone so far as to wear a tie, which was a tad too short.
