Upon arriving back at my apartment, I gently shake Ella awake. She has been asleep the entire way home.
I'm furious with her for running away, so I'm going to punish her with silence. Until she apologises, she won't hear a single word from me, no matter how hard she tries.
No matter how long it takes, I'm determined to stick to the punishment, even if it feels like an eternity.
Her eyes flutter open, meeting mine in the dimly lit car. I exit, saying nothing, striding towards the elevator with purpose. I don't even glance back to see if she's trailing behind me.
We brought all of her belongings back to my place, ensuring she had everything she would need for the time being. As for the rest, I plan to hire a removal company tomorrow. She won’t be going back to that place.
