I froze straight away when Vicki reminded me that Richard was allergic to shrimp.
I was still in mid-air as I fed Richard the shrimp, not knowing how to respond to Vicki's accusation.
Thankfully, Richard came through for me.
"Vicki, go work on this document as soon as you can and communicate with me if you have any questions."
He gave Vicki the order to leave.
"Okay, I'll get right on it."
Vicki responded with a smile and even gave me a slight nod as she left as if gesturing and as if proud.
I am a woman, so I know women.
Although Vicki called me "ma'am," she should know that I am Richard's wife, but she acted more like declaring war on me.
Does she like Richard too?
A strong feeling of unease overcame me.
