Chapter 18: Moving In
Returning inside the restaurant Jennifer was obviously shaken by the argument she just had with her husband.
“What’s the matter Jen?” Amanda stood up and walked to the distressed woman.
“Nothing… John went back home so I’ll stay and work a little bit before leaving. You two can finish your dinner.” Jennifer said in the calmest voice she could muster at the moment.
“Jen, you’ve been working hard enough as it is… How about you go home as well?” Amanda suggested while brushing away the woman’s tears.
“How could I go back after what I just told him?” Jennifer finally broke down and cried while in Amanda’s arms.
“It’s okay, everyone gets in conflicts sometimes. That doesn’t mean anything. I’m sure he’s already regretting what he’s said to you as well.” Amanda sa
