CHOPSTICK ATTACK

Troy and Yuri gaped at June as he finished telling his story. "Shut up!" Tory said, shaking his head in awe, "Sirius Jian helped you out?" June shrugged and slurped his noodles. They were in the school cafeteria having lunch and June had just finished telling them, about what happened yesterday. "I am sorry, I wasn't there, bud," Tory said, his tone apologetic. Usually, the bullies would leave June alone whenever he was around Tory but he was on leave yesterday. June waved his hand, "It's okay, I know how to handle those bullies." "It's true," a deep disembodied voice said. June turned back and narrowed his eyes at the grinning Sirius. "What are you doing here?" He snapped. Sirius feigned a hurt look. "Can't I have lunch with you?" He asked. June looked around the canteen. Every students were looking at them and whispering. They weren't even trying to hide it. June and his friends had a low social life, so it must have been a surprise for other students when the future leader of their clan walked up to a group of nobodies. "No," June said. Sirius turned towards Tory and beamed. "Tory, we should discuss our match for this evening," Sirius began, "Wanna do it right now while we have lunch?" June didn't wanted to come in between Tory and his match. Tory was in the boxing club and this evening's match was the most important as sponsors were going to come. He just shrugged when Tory looked at him asking, if he was okay with it. Tory looked at Sirius and smiled, "Sure." Sirius gave June a smug smile and sat next to him. "Nice to meet you again, pup," Sirius said. "Call me that again, and you will find this chopstick in a very uncomfortable place," June flatly said and snapped the chop sticks in a threatening way at Sirius. "Pup, are you threatening me with a chopstick?" Sirius mused, his dark eyes dancing in amusement. Yuri and Tory gave each other occasional smile as they watched Sirius and June bicker. "Anyway, June are you sure you don't want to come to the match tonight?" Yuri asked, preventing them from bickering any further. June nod his head. "Come on, we will go for a drink after the match," Tory said. "I prefer mango milk," June muttered. "June does craaazy stuffs when he is drunk," Yuri explained, to Sirius, "This one time, he ran straight to a pole saying the world is just a simulation." "Well, he was wrong," Tory added. June groaned as the rest laughed. "Dude, I will give you a mango milk to drink while us adults drink alcohol." Tory offered. "Three mango milk and you have a deal," June said, "And ya'll are teenagers." He added. "Two mango milk or nothing," Tory bargained, "And Hailey is also coming," He said in a sing song voice. At the sound of Hailey's name Sirius straighten his back. "Hailey Feng?" Sirius asked. Yuri and Tory nodded. "Our lil June fancy her," Yuri said, while Tory made kissing noises. Sirius felt a sudden anger at his childhood nemesis. He and Hailey Feng had known each other since the day, his journey to become the clan's leader started. It was when he was eight and they had a junior alpha annual sports meet, where he won the gold medal in almost everything with Hailey as his runner up. Young Hailey couldn't bear the thought of Sirius being first in everything and had developed a hatred against him. Their parents thought that it would be a great idea to arrange a play date for him and Hailey. So the second time they met Hailey had got a large popsicle stuck in his hair. Sirius was so mad, he had scooped a handful of mud from the puddle formed in the driveway and dumped it at Hailey's face. Ever since, their rivalry grew. Some were silly while the other were serious. Sirius wouldn't care about it much had it been any other competition but he was genuinely interested in June. He wanted to be with June and knowing June is interested in Hailey left a bitter taste in his mouth. June noticed Sirius' changing expressions. He had met male leads like Sirius before. They get infatuated so fast and fall in love hard and deep. He knew the owner of this body would led a very happy life once he completed his mission. "If you promise to give me a mango milk everyday for the rest of the semester, I will cheer for you at the match." June coughed and elbowed Sirius lightly. The thought of Hailey Feng left Sirius as soon as he heard June's offer. "It's a deal!" He immediately agreed. June grinned at his silly tactics. "Future leaders should be a little distinct." June smiled. Sirius was again breathless for the second time because of June. Everything about June made him forget who he was supposed to be. The rest of the lunch break just passed away in a blink. *** Hailey Feng was on her way to talk with June. She wanted to know if he wanted a lift to school this evening so he can come to the match. To her surprise and annoyance, she saw Sirius with June by his locker. She slowed her steps when she noticed Sirius' expression. It was...soft. Sirius always smiled but his smile was i-am-better-than-all-of-you kind of smile. But the way he was smiling while he talked with June was so different. It made her feel something. It made her feel jealous. Sirius was the best alpha in their clan. He never really gave anyone a second of his time except to her, even though it was to gloat over his latest victory or sulk about his lose. Only she got the most attention from Sirius and when she saw him willingly give away his attention to an Omega with such soft smile, she couldn't help but feel uneasy. Only you can look at me like that! She screamed inside her head. The thought surprised her but it felt okay. It felt like the thought was suppose to be where it is right now. Hailey's heart skipped a beat, when Sirius looked her way and their eyes met but his expression turned sour. Hailey frowned but she did the same. Why couldn't you look at me with the same eyes, you looked at him? She wondered as she turned to June with a smile. Sirius growled when he noticed the tips of June's ears turn red when Hailey smiled at him. "Do you need a lift this evening?" Hailey asked June, keeping her smile. "Well, yea—" "No, June is going with me," Sirius said as he stepped in front of June. Hailey glared at him, "I wasn't asking you, Jian." "Oh, sod off, Feng," Sirius scoffed and turned behind and lifted June over his shoulder. June let out a surprised squeak and quickly turned red. "Put me down!" June snapped as he kicked his legs in the air and punched Sirius in the stomach but had no effect. "Give it up, pup you can't harm me," Sirius said and then added, "Physically." As an after thought. "This is so embarrassing," June muttered. He covered his face, when he saw other students passing by them and giving him weird looks and whispering at their friends. "Sirius," June groaned, "Please put me down." Sirius was in a heated sharing competition with Hailey when June groaned his name. Sirius felt the sudden heat as he quietly spoke. "Say my name again." June looked at Sirius with a confused expression. "What?" "Say my name and I will put you down." "Sirius," June blurted out immediately. Sirius smiled. Just like poetry. [Male lead's favorability rate towards June Weng +5 current favorability rate 50%] "I was kidding," Sirius said, "but I will keep my promise if you tell Miss sourpuss here that I will be the one giving you a ride to school."
