It’s not what she expected. Huh, ‘expected’, she hates the word now. Her whole life is the damn opposite of it.
Theo has expected some giant apartment suit with 10 different bedrooms and Pattie and her friends would stay up all night and drink alcohol, or have s*x, or go chasing unicorns or whatever normal late teens like them would do and Theo would be forced into some room and would be fighting to fall asleep with all the noise and her anxiety in staying away from home with strangers for the first time in her life, not that Hayden was a stranger, but still, she wasn’t comfortable with the idea.
