Six Owen settled his groceries on the counter and went through the motions of putting them away. Deciding he could bring his overnight bag in from the truck later, he wandered into the living room and sank into his recliner. He tipped his head back and let his eyes drift closed. He’d forgotten how long the twelve-hour drive down to Mendocino was. Even with the day off in between to rest and visit with his cousin, he was bone-tired.
