Dray Prescot

307 Words
Dray PrescotThe planet Kregen under the twin star Antares four hundred light years from Earth offers fantastic opportunities to those willing to risk all, to stake their lives against the chances of disaster to gain fame, fortune, glory and love. On that beautiful and terrible, savage and exotic world, passions run high, deeds are valiant, and under the streaming mingled ruby and emerald lights of the Suns of Scorpio all a man or woman desires may be theirs. Dray Prescot has been taken to Kregen many times to carry out the mysterious designs of the Star Lords. Now they want him to become the Emperor of Emperors, the Emperor of All Paz. At the moment he is attempting to unify the sub-continent of Balintol against the overweening ambitions of local rulers, so that a united front can be presented to the predatory reivers from over the curve of the world — the dreaded Fish-heads, the Shanks. Prescot is skeptical of the whole concept of an Emperor of All Paz; but the Star Lords will it. These rulers of various countries of Balintol, and the people trying to usurp them, appear to care only for their own ambitions. Prescot is a man above middle height, with enormously broad shoulders and a magnificent physique. He has brown hair and brown eyes that are level and dominating. There is an air about him of abrasive honesty and indomitable courage. He walks like a savage hunting cat, silent and deadly. Yet his humanity has not been calloused by his extraordinary adventures on Kregen, rather the reverse. Having saved the Illusionist of Winlan and preserved the Wall that retains the demon monsters created by Khon the Mak’s Dokerty priests, Prescot now realizes to his profound horror that the phantom of his wife Delia he saw buried by falling rock was no apparition.
