Chapter 15 She bolted up like a frightened rabbit when she saw that watch, her face somewhere between sheer panic, rage and terror, her eyes fixed directly on it. Her chair clattered noisily on the floor behind her. She reached out as if to take the watch from my hands, but I slipped it back into my pocket and her fingers clenched on empty air. “Gavin, I....” she said. She didn't know what to say. It was obvious she hadn't been prepared for me to just show her the watch.
