Chapter 29 The dream was different this time. Much more vivid, much more real, like it wasn’t a dream at all but just my brain on rewind. It felt more real than being awake usually feels, and that meant I felt more drunk than being drunk usually feels. I was so drunk I could hardly remember how to put one foot in front of the other to get from point A to point B, but I still managed to slam the heavy door of the Freehold open so hard it sounded like the crack of a rifle in that dark parking lot. A thick, fat raindrop hit my forehead, followed quickly by several others.
