Not even in my wildest speculations would I ever have guessed that there would be a connection between Father and Mayor Gundarrson. And the connection was arguably tenuous, as I had no proof that the mayor of Hennington owned True Knowledge Property, or had anything directly to do with the vacant building at 93 Currant Ave.
Still, however slight the connection, it wasn’t nothing. And the coincidence was simply too jaw-dropping to really be a coincidence. I didn’t know how, but in one way or another the mayor and Father were connected. Perhaps he was an old student of Father’s from the Stillwater compound days. Perhaps he was even a current member of Ultima Thule, one of the sleepers Jackie had assured me were everywhere.
