Veronica I didn’t want to feel angry. I didn’t want to feel disappointed, but I was. I was angry and disappointed. I had no idea what was going on between the twins, but I couldn’t believe they had decided that tonight was the night to f**k things up. I glanced between them and sighed softly. My mother had gone all out. The table was filled with roast potatoes, cheesy cream cauliflower, sweet honey-glazed carrots, roast beef, rice, and gravy. Conrad was exceptionally quiet and almost seemed as though he wasn’t actually with us, which pissed me off. And Callum was polite even if he was talkative. My mother chose to ignore it as she chatted along, asking questions and keeping up the atmosphere. It was a pity that the tension was so thick I could cut it with a knife. By the time dinner was d
