Cedar Ridge boasted 360 souls, but as far as I could tell, there were very few cedar trees growing—if you counted the line along Cedar Ridge Road—and I wasn"t certain where the ridge part came in. The whole downtown consisted of old buildings in need of a wrecking ball someday. The main portion of “down town” was about three blocks wide by five blocks long, with newer homes built on the outskirts, lining asphalt streets and mature oak, walnut, and maple trees, went in all four directions of the compass in their own little “subdivisions”.
