THERE WAS something very liberating about letting things go without holding anything back. I was not saying that I forgave Rhys for everything. I did not think I was ready for that, or that I would ever be capable of that, but seeing him with his kids, so exceptionally great despite all the history with him. I was not expecting anything at all. Really. I just thought I would see him interact with the triplets with the bare minimum of a stranger meeting a stranger for the first time, but it was not like that.
