I SNAPPED out of my reverie when a door slammed shut and startled me. I was ready to jump into action, running away from the invisible danger. But it was only Flint slamming the door to the restroom a little too hard. Rita, who was sleeping soundly at the far corner of the bed didn’t even flinch or be bothered by the noise.
