Chapter 8: But Mom… I look up at my lover as I sigh into the phone. “Hi to you, too, Mom.” “Where’s Dan?” she wants to know. “What’s he have to say about this? You getting married?” “He’s standing right here. Of course he knows about it.” I roll my eyes at him and he snickers as he clears away my plate. “He’s the one I’m marrying, God.” My mother scoffs. “Please, Michael. Men don’t marry other men.
