When I come out of the bathroom, Dan’s in front of the full-length mirror in the bedroom, straightening his hat. He’s all decked out in his dress blues and looks positively dashing. “Damn,” I say, shaking my head. “Give me two minutes, soldier, that’s all I ask.”
“Not until you make an honest man out of me,” he teases, his reflection winking at me. “How’s the song go? Put a ring on it?”
I waggle my fingers at him. “You already did.”
