The lantern festival, the day people welcome the start of the autumn season and bid bye to the rainy season, which gave water to all the people without any partiality. You could see that the windows of the houses held open all around the village and huge, artfully designed lanterns hung around on the window panes to bid bye to the Rain God. The lanterns would be sent off in the sky after eight in the night, till then people would hang them on the doors or windows.
