“Coming in!” Gordy looked at Leo, his big blue eyes shining, and his forehead creased into a frown. He appeared for all the world as if he was about to start praying. Instead, he whispered, “Can I just tell him I was naked?” The question caught Leo so off guard that he snorted a laugh. “Yes.” He nudged Gordy towards the super and leaned against the doorframe of the bedroom. “Go smile a lot. Say nice things.” They shared a look—a silent, “we got this”—and Gordy was off. He gave the super a smile that was so warm, Leo was sure it could have melted away the rest of the icecap. Then followed it with a constant trill of how great the weather had been and how lucky they were to live in such a nice area.
