I could see a faraway expression within Gianna’s eyes telling me her mind was likely distracted. Whether it was distracted by the things we spoke of, or the things that had occurred earlier, that, I didn't know. She seemed reluctant to tell us too much, and it bothered me. How was I supposed to help her... protect her, if she shut me out? I felt I needed to help her. Yet when I tried to reach out and ask if she was okay, she seemed distant.
