Having watched Mason and his friends moving toward the exit, I was oddly surprised to find myself disappointed the evening had come to an end. I had actually enjoyed their company. Something I don’t think has ever happened in the whole time I had worked here. My shifts usually dragged, and I avoided interacting with the clients as much as physically possible. Yet this small group of guys had made my night more than bearable... even brightened it. Especially Mason. But, I felt the eyes of my boss watching me from across the bar, as his words echoed in my head, and I knew I should not keep him waiting too much longer. He sounded pissed off the moment he had called me over, though heaven knows why. I raised my gaze to look at him, and, as expected, he was staring at me, his eyes angry and h
