Chapter 45: Impostor – Part II
-Andre-
As soon as I left my room, I mind-linked Derrick urgently to find where and when Adela was last seen. I know he is having a never-ending day, but we must stay on high alert.
Elba vanished after leaving the palace without a trace so far. Then that female approached Blanche and me in the garden, where a shadow overheard us, and now Adela was missing!
Apparently, Adela had gone into her own room. And didn't contact anyone after the party. I was practically running over there.
Two guards sent by Derrick were already at Adela's door. After bowing, they reported Adela hadn't responded.
My Lycan was restless, and I felt something was about to happen if it hadn't already happened.
Adela is not just my ears in the Kingdom or my Royal Assistant; she is family. I regret never telling her that before, and I should have!
I begged our Goddess for my friend to be alright so I could tell her one day.
I knocked on Adela's door, growling. Adela didn't reply!
I knew something was wrong.
A dread crept fast inside me. Despite the rabid knocking, Adela still didn't answer or reply to any mind link.
What if someone hurt Adela? She has never ever blocked her mind link. And she has never made a mistake with my beverages or my food.
What if Adela was unconscious inside of her room? Or dead?!
I will never forgive myself if something happened to Adela; so, I did what I felt was right... I broke her door open with one kick using my Lycan. He enjoyed stretching out our muscles.
I marched into Adela’s room furiously, ready to fight, extending my claws, expecting to fight an enemy. But those emotions went down the drain when I found her on four on top of her bed, with Francisco behind her… both naked.
"Andre!" she screamed and grabbed a pillow to cover herself, pushing Francisco away.
I didn't close my eyes fast enough, and I wished I had covered my ears, too, because I heard Francisco scream "f**k!" and fall from the bed with a dry thud against the floor.
Oh, merciful Goddess! What the...?
I turned, truly mortified and with the urge to rip off my eyeballs.
"What are you doing here?" She shrieked.
Adela was so mad at me in all her right. I didn't know what to do with myself. The first thing that came out of my mouth was the stupidest explanation ever.
"My whisky had ice!" Even if it was an honest confession, I sounded not only stupid but spoiled. f**k.
"What?" she asked in disbelief.
Of course, Adela couldn’t believe I could say that. Honestly, neither do I.
"I thought something had happened to you!" I did better this time, but it was not enough. "You never make mistakes, Adela… So... I... Sorry… I... I'm so sorry." Damn!
"Andre…" Adela whispered.
By the sound, Adela must have wrapped herself in the sheets of her bed. And Francisco should be standing somewhere near her.
I took off as fast as I could, embarrassed. There is no more to say!
Adela didn't stop me, and neither did Francisco. And I sent away the guards that were waiting outside of her door.
Even though I had never walked into my parents, I can imagine this is how someone would feel in those cases. Adela is the female who helped to raise me. She is like a mother figure to me... What a mess!
How am I going to face Adela tomorrow?
What would she say? Should I talk with Francisco about being honorable to Adela? She deserves to be wooed officially!
When did this happen? I thought Adela wasn't into him. She acted as Francisco's sole presence irked her! Alright, Blanche told me she read a vibe between them, but I never thought my witch would be so damn right!
I have seen Francisco and Adela in a way I wish I had never seen them in my life!
And the scent in that room! Dear Goddess!
Blanche is going to laugh at me when I tell her. At least one of us will!
“Derrick, don’t worry about Adela anymore.” I found him a few meters away from Adela’s room. I forgot about him. "Go have some rest, Derrick," I told him, as I told the guards before.
“Thank you, Your Highness, but I have news. That is why I came alone. However, things will not change much if I report this in the morning. It has been a long night.” He sighed tiredly.
He must have noticed I was not in the mood. But there are pressing matters.
"No, let's go to my office now. And assign more guards at my chamber's door. Keep my Queen safe." I wanted him to double security. Derrick nodded, giving the order by mind link, and followed me in fast strides to match mine.
Blanche didn't follow me to check on Adela because I didn't give her enough time. Otherwise, she would have given me hell for asking her to stay inside our room. However, she hates walking through long corridors or taking the stairs.
I smiled, thinking about my mate on our bed, looking at her phone, and checking my location now.
"Why are they still here?" I asked Derrick.
My three dogs and Mina were sleeping on the carpet next to the chimney in my office. Blanche is going to kill me!
Goddess, I don't think I could deal with two females mad at me!
Derrick was nervous. He also had forgotten about my pets here.
"I apologize, Your Highness, but your dogs didn't allow anyone close, and when a maid tried to touch the kitten, Fergus almost bit her. So, they ate here. Although they rejected any food that came to them… Adela came to feed them, yet they didn't want to move."
"You must tell me these things!" Derrick bowed, flustered by my outburst, but it was not fair. "Although, again, this was a long day s***h night almost morning... I am sorry, I am in the wrong too."
I sighed.
Derrick bowed and silently thanked me for understanding.
My "fur children" had eaten and seemed fine. If I feel guilty, it's not Derrick's fault or any member of my staff.
However, Blanche would be so disappointed; I huffed.
My pets were curled together, keeping Mina warm in the middle. They were protecting her.
I didn't like Mina before, but the kitty has grown on me as she has done with "her siblings," as Blanche calls them. According to my mate, the kitten's eye color matches mine. That is so silly... Yet my chest warms up whenever I see Blanche taking care of Mina.
Blanche babies her kitty and I... Maybe in a year, we could adopt... but I must sharpen my parenting skills before that. I shook my head, dismissing those thoughts for now.
"What is the news, Derrick?" I sat behind my desk.
“We found Elba's body, Your Highness.”
"f**k," a curse slipped from my lips.
I pressed the bridge of my nose between my fingers. I knew it.
If Cara did this... What am I saying? Of course, Cara did it! Stupid, shallow female! You are breaking your daughters' hearts! Elba was the Adela of my sisters, if not closer.
I was soaking in shame, anger, and guilt when I felt a pang on my left side out of nowhere. What the hell?
Cara is a b***h, but this is on me, too. If I hadn't been so distant from my sisters, Elba would have come to me for help. And Cara would have known my sisters were off-limits for her deceptions; besides, others wouldn’t look at them as exchange coins or easy prey.
Guilty... I felt so guilty.
"I am sorry, Your Highness," Derrick's eyes turned red, and he looked worried, "but I have several reports from the palace that maids and guards are acting… weird."
"Weird? How so weird?" I questioned him; Derrick was taking an excessively long minute. "Explain at once!" I urged him. "Did the nobles finally make their move?"
"Aroused…?" What? Erick didn't believe what he was explaining. "As if they were in heat. But not even mated Lycans are alright... It's like they have a fever, and…," Derrick's eyes went red again before finishing his explanation. "And it's not only them but also the witches..." He blinked several times.
Witches too? Before I could call my witch, Derrick looked at me, alarmed by something new.
"Your Highness, the guards assigned to your chambers left!”
"What?" I growled, waking up the dogs.
"That is impossible!" I picked those who were going to guard my Queen. They are loyal and already mated. They will never abandon their posts unless...
I looked at the large mirror Blanche had set in my office. She told me the mirror would turn black or red in case of an attack by dark magic or someone with murderous intentions entering our palace.
“Yes! They say they had to leave!"
"Blanche!" I yelled.
Derrick was closer to the door and rushed to open it before I did. However, we both froze in our spots when we found Blanche just outside.
She was wearing a white fur coat long enough to touch the floor. The aroma coming from her stopped my brain.
Derrick took a couple of steps back and bowed before her, giving her space to enter.
She walked into my office, and her eyes on me turned me on. It pleased my Lycan how she ignored Derrick. I love it when Blanche pays attention only to me.
My Lycan was almost at the surface. Detesting another male could sense my mate's arousal. I gestured at Derrick to leave and deal with what was happening in the palace.
"I will go to check on my guards. Please excuse me, Your Highnesses." Derrick bowed again and closed the door; Blanche locked it. I didn't mind the world outside either.
The coat slipped down and fell around her.
I took a few steps backward to look at her. Blanche was a vision, wearing white lingerie, making my member hardened. Her scent was intoxicating and numbed my senses.
The Lycan inside of me jolted, but even he was wary. Blanche knows we can't act on our desires. What is she doing? Just a few moments ago, we had some intimacy without completion and... This is not...
Are we under some sort of attack? A lust's spell, perhaps? No, the mirror would detect it, right?
Besides, no witch or warlock can do a number on us, considering the precautions...
Could Blanche be in heat? We know so little about how our mating would work.
"It seems like a spell has fallen upon us," I told her with a smirk. Yet Blanche didn't reply. I expected some sass from her but nothing.
However, Blanche's arousal grew potent and mouthwatering after hearing my voice. I could almost sense Blanche's fragrance on my tongue.
"You know we can't." I avoided looking at her, holding my breath.
Shit. I couldn't think properly.
The pull... the hunger between us increased while Blanche walked in slow motion towards me; and when she had me in her arms, with her face inches away from mine... Argus growled furiously, breaking the spell.
I shook my head and blinked several times, getting back to my senses and taking both hands off Blanche's ass. Fergus and Petra joined Argus, baring their fangs, growling at... Blanche?
My witch shuddered and grabbed my arm to pull me in front of her. Although I knew my guys would never hurt my mate, the Lycan felt protective of our mate.
"Sit!" I ordered them. "Sit!" I repeated the command, forcing them to obey. They whimpered, scared by my Lycan's aura.
This is not right. I don't treat my dogs like that… and neither does Blanche. Wait, is there a sly smile on her face about what I did?
My dogs took a menacing stand, alert and ready to attack her. Why?
I pulled my arm away from her and left her behind me. Blanche relied on my desk; I wanted to approach my dogs.
My pets relaxed visibly, whining at my contact. I petted their heads, and they grumbled after sniffing my hands. Is that they can't recognize Blanche's scent?
I grabbed Mina from the carpet. She wasn't happy, but this kitten awoke Blanche's maternal side. We would do nothing if Mina and our other "fur babies" were with us.
However, when I turned to look at Blanche, she was bare. Only her long silver-white hair was covering her breast from my eyes.
Blanche is not thinking clearly.
My theory about the beginning of Blanche's heat was getting stronger by the second. I was better and ready to protect her.
Mina was in my right hand when I got Blanche's coat from the floor and offered it to her. She didn't want to wear the damn coat; instead, she took my hand. My beast felt unsettled, her hold on me didn't appease our anxiety.
The dogs barked loudly. Mina hissed at Blanche and arched her back. Is Mina ready to attack Blanche? Even my Lycan was confused.
Blanche quickly pulled my face to kiss me, but I turned to look at Mina, who fought me to be freed. Blanche kissed my cheek instead of my lips and huffed.
There were sparks, but it felt wrong.
Besides, I know all of Blanche's expressions before any kind of kiss. This was not… her usual self.
My dogs kept barking, distracting me from Blanche. It was uncomfortable since Mina was still in my hand. Instead of pulling Blanche closer, I kept her away from Mina and me.
Blanche went to hug me from behind, molding her body to mine; her palms were on my abdomen, and she kissed my back, but my Lycan didn't answer. That was odd.
Blanche moved to my front and aimed to kiss me again, throwing her arms around my neck. Her mouth was open for that kiss, and I had to stop her.
I placed Mina on my desk.
"Something is wrong, Blanche," I said, and she pouted instead of answering me. I narrowed my eyes. Even that pout is wrong! All her facial expressions differ from those I know in my mate.
The anger of my dogs was palpable. And Blanche shook again.
I touched her forehead. There was no fever.
It was her scent, her warmth, her beautiful amber eyes... I felt the tingles of our bond when I caressed her cheek with my palm. But it wasn't the same. It was empty...
"Are you feeling unwell?" I asked her and inspected her body for an injury or some sign of harm. But she smirked and tried to touch my member over my clothes.
What is going on? I thought to myself, clenching my jaw. The groping didn't feel… right.
My brain was making the connections.
It was Blanche's scent, yes… but what about mine on her? I had my fingers inside her sweet p***y, and I bathed her with my c*m before this mess. I cleaned her, but we didn't shower. She knows I like my scent all over her body.
I grabbed Blanche's wrist to inspect her hand. The scar of the curse for stealing was gone...
I released her wrist and took a few steps away from her. Blanche grabbed her coat from the floor and looked at me, confused.
My female doesn't act frightened at anything, even less of her "fur children"; she never gets naked in front of them. Blanche thinks we could traumatize them if we did something more than kiss.
Argus, Fergus, and Petra love Blanche. They would never growl at her. Then I eyed the coat in her hands.
My Blanche doesn't wear fur, not even a fake one. Besides, she is always friendly with Derrick and Adela, but this Blanche didn't greet Derrick nor ask about Adela's wellbeing...
Despite the smell and the sparks, the female in front of me was not Blanche, and a wave of raw anger shook my body. I used everything in me to hold my Lycan inside.
The fake Blanche smiled, pleased when I opened the door to let the dogs out. "Go to my room!" I commanded them, and they rushed outside.
I took a quick breath of unpolluted air and eyed the mirror inside. It was slowly turning black!
My damn Lycan was f*****g conflicted by our emotions. I mind-linked Derrick to check on Blanche. I couldn't kill this b***h before knowing my mate was alright.
I locked the door. It was my job to deal with this impostor. Yet, I was so disgusted and angry at her!
My Lycan pushed and pushed to be released, turning my eyes red, my nostrils flaring, my breathing ragged...
The impostor thought it was lust. Stupid female!
She sat on my desk and opened her legs, shoving her fake silver-white hair out of the way to show me her neck. Does she think I would mark my mate in my office?
The mirror was completely black now, and the fear of losing my mate almost blocked my throat. This is Blanche's territory... Then, why? How...?
Our bond! Our bond is mature now... I should be able to feel Blanche now! The Lycan tracked our mate up to our chamber, but then she disappeared!
My brain shut down, looking at the impostor. She licked her lips as I grabbed her neck with one hand.
I pulled her head close to my face, staring straight into her eyes.
"Where is Blanche?" I roared in her face while choking her. "Where is my mate?!" I screamed at her and lifted her filthy body in the air.
I could hear the ring of my phone in the distance. The claws of the impostor pierced the skin of my hand. It was futile to fight me... My Lycan was taking over because I wanted nothing more than the death of this b***h.
