He hit his desk for the fifth time in the day, because of the incompetents of his employees he had lost a big deal with some cloth suppliers from Italy. As always, everything is up to himself, he could not delegate anything to anyone because they did everything wrong. He picked up the phone and called his secretary. “Bring the book of accounts right now” He was like that, brute with his female employees, he cared little for their feelings, although he knew it very well; he knew that kind of woman who was just looking for that position to be his lovers and get money from him. But Matthew Jones, was anything but a womanizer. arrogant? It is. crabby? It is. millionaire? It is What else was Matthew Jones? He is many things, but he has many qualities that few people know about him. He was the best of his class in all the semesters of the university, while studying he worked on weekends next to his uncle, his father's twin brother, seeing him was very, very difficult, because seeing his uncle was seeing his father technically, but he learned to live with that. Upon graduation he traveled to the company's headquarters in the city of Chicago, where he did his master's degree in Business and a specialization in financial management. He is a very prepared man, very focused on his work and therefore hates that they do not work for him as he would like. The secretary entered the office fearfully, placed the accounting notebook on the desk and practically ran out of the office, Matthew hated being interrupted while watching through the window, it was only in those moments, when the sun was already hidden in the distance and the sky was tinged with beautiful colors when he finally had a moment of peace. His best friend, Andrés Ortiz, always told him that his moodiness was due to the fact that he did not f**k enough, in the company it was rumored that Matthew is gay simply and simply because he had never been seen with any woman. As if I had called him with the thought, the door of his office opened and Andres came in, he was one of the lawyers for this, Matthew knew him since they were very young, he, unknowingly, was the only emotional support that the CEO had even if he never admitted it to his friend. “ I've gotten you three precious little girls for tonight” Matthew turned irritated towards his friend.  “How many times do I have to reject you?” he asked in disbelief, why couldn’t he understand that he didn't want to be with one, two or more women? “Well, just tell me if I have to get you three men” Andrew shruthed like men and a small smile could be seen on Matthew's face. “You know very well that I'm not gay” “No, I don't know. Because I haven't seen you with anyone since college, if you've had sparodiaco s*x in these 10 years, right?” He rolled his eyes sitting in the seat, Andrew did the same on the other side of the desk. “I'm not going to talk about my s*x life with you, but to make you happy, yes. I've had s*x recently, Happy” Andrew's honey eyes were open like dishes. “Are you serious?”  Matthew nodded “Congratulations! I was seriously taking it for your friend and he would become a mummy” He rolled his eyes again, he would never admit that recently it meant more than a year ago, but hey, so Andy put aside his mania of finding him a woman for a night. “I'll fire the secretary," he said all of a sudden, this time it was Andrew's turn to roll his eyes. “Again? It's like the 4th in this month” “It's tested and it definitely hasn't happened, I don't like its performance, it seems like I was afraid of it all the time” “And you don't know why?” Andrew laughing mockingly.  “You're not good at socializing with anyone, just me, that's not right” “I don't like to socialize” “So don't expect them not to be afraid of you if you're always acting like a damn with everyone, you're gross, dry and you earn the deal” Matthew felt a little hurt for his employees, but then remembered what they were, simple employees who didn't really serve much so the day he treated someone with respect was because he deserved it. And in fact in the company there was only one person who was worthy of all your respect. “Go, and on the way call me Abbie” Andrew bit his lower lip. “You're a shitty s**t” He raised an eyebrow trying to hide a smile. “I'm just asking you for a favor.” “But ask me for anything, not that!” Matthew I look at him seriously. “Go and tell Abbie that I need her”  “I'm leaving, but I won't call Abbie”  this time she did  let out a laugh. “Cowardly, then tell my secretary to call her, or can you do that either” “Yes bossy” Andres left the office while Matthew shook his head, Abbie was the new business manager, she had been about three months or maybe less, she was very hardworking and took the job immediately, Abbie was her right hand and, although they did not talk much, every time they did he admired her much more because he talked about the subject with passion, as he did. From the first day Abbie had arrived at the company, Andrew had set his eye on her, but she had one thing that for Andrew was forbidden and Matthew knew it very well. Abbie was a married woman. Andrés   ran away from those women, seeing a ring on the finger of a nice woman was synonymous with having nothing to do there, but with  Abbie it was different because for the first time he wanted to skip that rule and go talk to her. Because yes, Andrew hadn't even been able to speak to her ever, not even a basic greeting, he always avoided her at every cost, but when she didn't see him, he watched her even for hours, he was a good stalker. Anyway, continuing with Matthew and Abbie, two people in love with the administration got along very, very well and Matthew felt that they made a very good team, except for the fact that he also felt that Abbie was afraid of him. He couldn't do anything about it, but he was grateful that Abbie hadn't run away like the previous administrator had. More than five minutes later they knocked on the door. “Pass” The door opened slowly and Abbie's blonde hair entered first. “Good afternoon Mr Jones” “Come in Abbie, I need your help” Abbie stepped into the office with a little more courage, when her boss told her to sit in front of him, she did. “Tell me what I'm good at” Abbie was mentally beaten, those words had come out without thinking and now she was afraid that her boss would reprimand her for it, but he didn't say anything. “We've lost the business of Italy” Abbie opened her mouth. “What? But it's not possible, I was almost ready” “It was, the people in charge didn't make a better offer and the Italian company joined the competition.” “It's not fair Mr. Jones! You yourself told us that for the money there was no problem, the important thing was to have them as suppliers, right?” Matthew buffed audibly, understood Abbie's frustration, he felt her fivefold. “Apparently you were the only one who heard my words.” Abbie felt a little bad, her boss had had to go urgently last week to see her grandmother in Chicago, she left the head of marketing, he was an expert in international business, what had happened? “I need you to help me review the company's revenue, from head to toe” the blonde was a little surprised. “ Lord do you believe what...?” I don't finish the question when Matthew nodded.  “I'm afraid so, this morning Becker resigned” Abbie was still in shock, most likely Becker, the former head of marketing, allied himself with the competition, damaged the negotiation with the Italian company and perhaps robbed the company.  “Well, let's get started” Abbie said, though she later remembered that  “Can I call a friend first? I've stayed for dinner with her,  but I'm going to cancel her to stay up late” “Sure Abbie, thank you so much for doing this, it's very important to me” “Don't worry boss, all for the good of the company” Abbie unlocked her phone and right there and dialed her best friend's number, to the second tone she replied. “Hello?” “Hello friend!” greeted Abbie with emotion. “No, no no.” She started denying Violet  “tell your damn boss that's our night, don't cancel me” Matthew listened to everything they were talking about, Abbie looked at him embarrassed. “Hey, he's by my side” “Pass it on to me! I tell him they can't exploit you that way” “Violet, I have to hang up, another day we went out” “Abigail don't think of hanging me!” but he did it with a very red face. “ Boss” Abbie started talking slowly, her voice was a whisper, she was very embarrassed “boss, I swear I don't feel exploited, I offer to work late, for me this is also important” Matthew looked at her seriously,  but inside she was dying of laughter. “Very nice her friend”  it was the first thing she said, Abbie grimaced   “and I don't know, I'm going to pay her twice as much for overtime so she can invite her friend another day so she's not so upset anymore.” “No boss, calm down for that. Let us better start at once” Violet looked at her phone screen with a lot of grudge, it was the third time her friend had cancelled her outings. Since she had started working in that company, they no longer saw each other as much as before because of the boss who always left her working until very late. Today was the day for the two of them to de-stress a little, Violet had been looking for a week and still nothing fixed had come out,  but   she had earned 30 dollars doing a math assignment by Freelance. He hadn't heard from Jack again, he hadn't gone back to the apartment and he hadn't called her either. Violet had dedicated herself to cleaning the apartment thoroughly and already had two boxes ready next to the door with Jack's belongings, so that he would take them soon. He also had a box where he had belongings that were shared for Jack to decide whether to leave or take them, Violet wouldn't mind the decision he made regarding what was inside the third box. She kept looking at her laptop, she was sure that 45% of the companies in the city already had her resume and she kept sending all the emails she could so they weren't asking for vacancies. She joined a f*******: group of employment in her city, there they published daily different types of jobs and also left the emails of the human resources, Violet wrote them all down and sent resumes just in case. She just hoped she wouldn't be accused of Spam or she would have to flee the country so she wouldn't be recognized. She had had 4 interviews this week, in one of them she was immediately turned down because according to them, she was overqualified for the position. Sorry? I couldn't find any reason why that was bad, if she had a company, she would hire anyone, over qualified or not. Opportunity was opportunity and anyone should have it and in this moment Violet felt that she was the one who should have any chance no matter how arrogant it sounded. He went to the super to buy the pantry for the week and ended up buying more knick-knacks than he planned, surely he would gain several kilos, but with everything he was walking lately he would lower them fast. His car was still in the parking lot without turning on, the trusted mechanic was on vacation so he had to wait for it to arrive as he didn't trust anyone else. She didn't know about cars and surely any other mechanic would invent problems where there weren't to charge her more. Jack had taught her that and they were things that no matter who taught her, the good things stayed with her and the bad things had already been rejected. She went through the fashion section and in the biggest storefronts she saw ads for the new season that the Jones brand had taken out, she was very proud of her friend working for that company,  but she still hated the head of this company. Damn Jones hoarder of best friends.
