We all turned around to see Domina standing behind us. I was not expecting this. Or maybe I was. I bet she came to see if Markus lived.
“How’s Markus,” Domina asked.
Bingo. Markus was right on the money. His theory was correct.
“Infirmary. He tripped into a wall.” I said sarcastically.
“Valentina, has he touched you inappropriately, or put his hands on you after he marked you?” Domina questioned.
“No ma’am. He’s been a gentleman so far.
Domina flitted up to Valentina and hugged her. “See, I told you everything will be alright. I brought you some more togas, wrappings, and cloths for your moon blood.”
“Thank you. I can’t wear what they wear.”
“I figured as such. Here, hold Artic, she’s been whining for you.”
