VIVIAN'S POV I don't know how long I laid there in bed, losing track of time and unable to focus on anything but where I had gone wrong. The thoughts wouldn't stop, and I was desperately trying to find ways to ground myself. I needed him but didn't want to ask him for help at the same time. I didn't want to be a burden to him, and I felt like I was being one. It felt like I was on my own little island and no matter how loud I screamed, no one would hear me. No one would save me but myself. I swallowed hard and reflected back on the fire again and the look of disappointment on his face.
