Had it not been for the empty plates on the table that served as a reminder to Olivia, she would surely have thought that she was still sleepwalking. In such a secluded valley, with no one in sight, only accompanied by the trees and the sky, everyone finished their meal and started to tidy up.
The torches on the lawn had already been put out, and several people were already sitting on one side, drinking.
Returning to her room, Olivia opened the door and looked at the empty room. The only strange thing was that the window had been opened at some point without her noticing, and the curtain was fluttering in the wind.
Perhaps it was Simona who opened the window. Olivia walked to the window and closed it. Her reflection was mirrored on the window.
Looking through the window into the distance, it was pitch-dark among the mountains. The trees stood eerily in the distance. The moon was also blocked by the clouds.
“ I always have this premonition that there's something behind me. What really worries me more is something that might crawl in through the window, like your dark shadow.”
Olivia was also bored, so she turned on the TV. To her surprise, a horror movie was on. Frightened, she switched to another channel, and it showed a heartwarming scene of a family sitting in front of the TV. she then gave mother a call to send her greetings.
Since the festival was approaching, they had bought a lot of presents and were asking when she could go back to visit them. Olivia replied that she would go back when the time came.
While chatting away, Olivia heard a thud coming from the window. It sounded as if something had bumped into the glass. So she hung up the phone and went to the window. At that very moment, she saw a pair of green eyes, and a flash of surprise passed through her eyes.
It was a wolfdog. In the biting wind, by the moonlight, its fur seemed to be covered with a layer of silver frost. Its eyes, green and bright, stared straight at Olivia as if they were trying to convey some mysterious message.
Olivia held her breath, not daring to make a sudden move. The wolfdog took a few steps forward slowly, its paws making soft sounds on the ground. Then, it sat down right in front of the window, its tail wagging slightly.
Suddenly, from the distance came a long howl. The wolfdog perked up its ears and stood up. It looked back at Olivia one more time, as if reluctant to leave. Then, with a powerful jump, it disappeared into the darkness from where it came. Olivia was left standing there, wondering what this strange encounter meant and if the wolfdog would ever return.
Olivia picked up the flashlight and went straight downstairs, then rushed towards the dark forest. Her body was sexy and slender, and her long brown hair fluttered in the darkness.
As she ran deeper into the forest, the air grew colder and more damp. The beam of the flashlight flickered occasionally, as if something was interfering with its power. But Olivia's determination was unwavering. She could hear strange whispers around her, as if the trees themselves were trying to tell her something.
Suddenly, she stumbled upon an old, overgrown path. It seemed to lead further into the unknown. Without hesitation, she followed it. The path was narrow and winding.
Olivia caught sight of some bloodstains on the grass. She then followed the trail of the blood all the way until she spotted a man lying on the ground with a shotgun in his hands. He appeared to be a colleague from her company.
Apparently, he had been subjected to some kind of shock, and his hands were trembling uncontrollably. Olivia helped him up from the ground and supported him as they made their way back to the hotel. There, his other colleagues joined in to provide medical treatment.
He said that he had only gone to chase those unknown creatures. He originally brought the shotgun for hunting, but now, unexpectedly, it came in handy. However, he didn't find those strange creatures and got scratched by thorns instead.
No one had any idea what kind of special thorns these were, for the wounds from the scratches refused to stop bleeding. The whole place was in chaos as everyone rushed around. Olivia was suddenly overcome by a wave of drowsiness. It was already 10 pm. Holding her coffee cup, she reached for the powdered sugar in the cabinet, only to discover that there was hardly any sugar left in the jar.
The colleagues in the company were frantically trying to find a doctor, all busy on their phones. But it was so late, and to make matters worse, the signal was weak in this remote mountain. When Olivia inquired with the hotel manager, the management suggested that she could fetch some sugar from the warehouse. She then thought it would be a good idea to get more coffee and make some for everyone. Buttoning up her coat to fend off the night chill and drowsiness, she stepped out of the hotel.

In the pitch - black night, she encountered a man clad in a plaid shirt.
His well - toned muscles strained the short sleeves, showing clear lines. Compared with others, he was much stronger. He had a tan complexion.
He introduced himself as a doctor.
