As I awoke, every muscle in my body ached, reminding me of the incredible night with Joel last night. Words could not express how happy I was. For the first time in a long time, I felt completely myself, completely alive. At first, it was a strange feeling and one that I would have to become acquainted with, but I welcomed it blissfully.
There obviously was the issue with Nick and how we would go about handling him. I had a feeling that it wouldn’t take him that long to find us. Nick was manipulative, controlling, abusive, but the man was smart as hell. It wasn’t something many people knew about him, and Nick liked it that way. Having the element of surprise over his enemies was the one thing that he could count on.
