2. The Hospital

I did not know how I was going to get there, I did not know where I was going because my eyes were filled with tears but I was not letting them spill. I was outside and walking to the cars when a car door was opened for me and I look up and see him.

“I am driving you” he said emotionlessly.

I look back at the girls and they just lift their shoulders and get in the back, he drove like a maniac to the hospital. 

We walked in and before anything happened Ana announced kind of loud to the nurses. 

“Freyja what room is available? And what doctor is on call? My friend has broken her arm and she might need to have surgery.”

The nurses tense up seeing Ana because she runs her shifts with an iron fist and everybody has a lot of respect for her even though she is so young. 

“Room 10, Dr Flennings, I will send in a nurse with painkillers and order time for her for a scan” The girl answers. 

“ No bring in morphine shot for her because I think she might me passing out” she said while looking worried at me. My vision was getting blurry and my feet were giving out, my hand has its  own pulse and was killing me, then arms were around me and lifted me up bridal style but the motion of my hand had me scream out. 

“Will you at least try to me gental you ass” Sigrid said angrily. 

I looked up, it was Ian that picked me up but his face still held no emotion but then a thought flashed in my head, how is he picking me up like nothing when I punched him so hard in the ribs?

He put me in a bed but watched out to put my arm on an armrest that was by the bed, I did the horrible mistake at looking at my arm, it was already blue and twice its size. Ana saw the look on my face and put a paper over it so I would not be able to see it, I closed my eyes to try to bear with the pain but it was too much and the tears started rolling down my cheeks. What felt like an hour later but was probably only 15 minutes or something when the nurse came in with my shot, I looked at Ana because I was very afraid of needles. She just shook her head because she had been drinking at that would maybe lose her license but she just walked closer to me and took my other hand. I was getting ready for the shot when I felt a tingling feeling on my leg right where my jeans and socks meet and I look up to see Ian touching me there. I locked eyes with him and I just got lost in those gray eyes but then when the shot was over he let go and broke the eye contact. Just for a second I didn't feel my pain and I just was lost in his eyes which has never happened to me but then again I am in excruciating pain and I don't know what is happening. It did not take long for the morphine to start working and me to stop crying, finally relaxing into the bed and just riding the high, I closed my eyes.

“What the f**k are you still doing here?” I heard Penny ask. 

My eyes snapped open, Ana and Sigrid are sitting down next to the desk that is for the doctor but Penny is holding my other hand, when did they switch? I looked up at poor Penny that always hated hospitals and would never go with me the other times I got hurt, once when I had to stay here for a while because I broke a little bone in my hip she just skyped me. I chuckle at the memory and everyone looked at me. 

“I am here because this is my responsibility and I am going to pay for whatever she has to go through,” he said angrily at the question.

“Then give me your information and leave” Penny said harshly.

He was about to answer her when Dr Flenning walked in.

“Ana I didn't know you were working today” he said while looking at her by the door.

“I am not” she said.

“Then why are you ordering my staff around” he said teasingly and smirked.

Ana just shrugged her shoulders and pointed at me, the doctor turned around and looked at me and got a disappointed look. 

“Hi Stella what happened now?” he said sad.

I just smiled at him.

“Well we have all of your information so I don't need to ask you the basic questions so I only have one question for you what happend know?” he asked while putting on the gloves.

“Well I was being harassed so I punched the guy” I said with a happy and weird voice, wow this drug is strong. 

The doctor sat down on his chair and rolled over to me, he lifted up the paper towel that Ana put over and his face went from happy and chipper to horror and sadness. While he was looking at my hand but not really touching it I just looked at his face, he had chocolate brown hair, small eyes, a straight nose and thin lips. He then stood up, took off his gloves and took my chin in his hand to make me look at him, I then heard a growl come from Ian. 

“Honey you have to stop being so reckless but know I have to see how much of your hand is broken, we will go and get a scan of your hand then I will send it to an orthopaedic who will then come in the morning to do the surgery” he said so professionally.

“See, she will need to be here overnight so you can just go and come back in the morning” said Sigrid and stood up to stand in front of Ian with her hands crossed over her chest. It was funny to see because Sigrid maybe got up to his chin and she is kind of a petite person while he is a mountain of muscles. I could just see the anger in his eyes and face and I could just imagine what he could do so I just talk before anyone else got hurt. 

“No girls it is fine he can stay if that is what he wants to spend his time on, Sigrid you just might want to take Penny home before she passes out and Ana can you find scissors to cut me out of this shirt before the scan?” I say in one quick breath. 

They all look at me and I just match their stares.

“No I don't want to leave you here” Penny says but her voice was not convincing. 

“Its fine I will be sent home tomorrow and you can bring me ice cream and movies then” I said and then I just longed for ice cream. 

I just looked over at Sigrid who was wondering what she should do because she knows how her girl hates being here but then again she is not comfortable in leaving me here with this mountain of a man. I just nod at her and she lets down her hands in defeat, she then walked over to us, kisses me on the forehead and again I hear Ian growl. I just look at him but he just stares at me and gives me no clues of what is going on in his head, but then Penny kisses me as well on the forehead but then they both leave but not before they both give Ian a mean look. Ana was outside looking for something to cut my long sleeve blue shirt so me and Ian were alone. 

“So your name is Ian?” I ask.

He takes a big breath but then just nodded. 

I just nodded at him back and just closed my eyes waiting for Ana to come back but he broke the silence.

“Why did you punch me?”

“Because as a stranger you are not supposed to harass someone like that” I say still with my eyes closed, but I can hear him again taking a deep breath to calm himself down. 

“A simple no would have been enough” he said and he didn't even try to mask his anger. 

“And me putting my hand over my mouth was not enough of a no?” I fire back.

He didn't say anything else after that, he was just there, the doctor came back and took me to take the picture, I was given more drugs and just the normal hospital stuff. It was getting late and I was on the bed, Ana had helped me take off my shoes and pants but we just cut the shirt off me. My arm was just getting bigger and bigger and was almost black. Ian didn't look at my hand but when he looked at me he just looked at my face like he was trying to find something but just getting satisfied with my face.
