Chapter 4: Twice her size

Luna’s pov
“It means that the council will force you two to marry. You need time for yourself to process all of this,” Taylor explained to me.
And like always, she was right.
I couldn’t tell Blake right away.
I still need time to myself and I need to find a way to tell him without giving him a heart attack.
Hell, I still owe my parents an explanation.
“Take time not only to process everything but to read up on vampires. You are going to be the Queen of the cunning, ruthless, and heavily populated species. You need to understand how they work and also their history,” Taylor added, and I nodded.
She called one of the werewolves to prepare a room for me.
“Are you sure that I should stay here? I mean considering the history between us?” I asked her and she smiled.
“That’s one more reason to stay here. We have a history and, despite everything that has happened when you found out you came to me,” Taylor said, and I smiled.
“You are like the big sister I never had, thank you,” I said to her and she smiled.
“I will tell everyone that you are here, and we will have a feast,” she said as she got up.
But then she saw that I was a little hesitant.
“Don’t worry, I won't tell anyone anything. You will tell them when you are ready, and I will make sure Ashton doesn’t say a word either,” she told me.
I followed her and she found Ashton in the kitchen.
“Can I talk to you?” she said to him and he came towards us.
“Don’t tell anyone about what Luna said,” she said, and Ashton nodded.
“Your secret is safe with us,” Ashton said with a smile.
Bryan came in running.
“Hey Luna, Alpha we have an urgent meeting with Alpha Kane,” he said.
“Well, he is on his way here,” Bryan said, and Ashton looked at his wife who just shrugged.
“Where is everyone?” Taylor asked Bryan.
“They went out Queen Luna,” he said, and Taylor rolled her eyes at this.
I looked at them as they were talking.
This could have been my life.
Taylor has everything I have ever wanted, and I couldn't help but feel jealous.
Will I ever have this?
“Come on, let me show you to your room and then we can attend the meeting with Alpha Kane. He is a pain in my ass,” Taylor said to me, and I heard Ashton and Bryan chuckle.
She showed me a room.
I noticed that it isn’t the same one I stayed in when I was staying here.
As if she could read my thoughts.
Taylor spoke up, “The room you stayed in is now Bryan’s and his mate. Ashton wanted them closer to us so they could protect me. After what happened with Anna, it's hard for him to trust again.” she explained, and I nodded.
What Anna did surprised everyone.
she was always so quiet and in the shadows.
No one would have guessed that someone who seemed that harmless could be capable of so much destruction and pain.
Well, I guess they are right when they say it’s always the unsuspecting and quiet ones who do despicable things.
“I understand, she was his sister and what she did hurt everyone,” I said, and Taylor nodded.
Her phone got a message and she checked it.
“It's Ashton, Alpha Kane is here. I noticed you were coming in a hurry, so I had them give you the extra toiletries we have. They are in the bathroom” she said, pointing at the bathroom.
“Want to join me on the meeting? Everyone else isn’t here yet. So you might be bored all alone,” she said to me, and I nodded.
We went downstairs to Ashton’s office where the meeting was being held.
We could hear the voices of men talking already.
Taylor opened the door and went in and I followed behind her.
She sat next to Ashton while I sat next to Bryan held my hand and smiled at me.
It was weird seeing this friendly side of him.
He wasn’t cold towards me when I stayed here but he was always distant.
“We heard about the way you have been treating your omegas. What is that about? Didn't we tell everyone that omegas must be treated with respect?” Ashton said.
His voice was full of authority and I could see Alpha Kane cowering down at this.
His eyes landed on Taylor and the fear was gone.
He was replaced by disdain.
“Why are you looking at your queen like that?” it was Bryan who asked.
“You call a witch my queen?” he said and was about to say more, but then we all felt it.
The power radiating off Ashton telling us that he was now mad.
I saw how his eyes changed colour as he looked at Alpha Kane, who was now quivering in fear.
Taylor held his hand and she looked at him and calmed down almost instantly.
She looked at the man and smiled.
“That witch is right here? I am your Queen, whether you like it or not. You will respect me, not because my husband is the Alpha King, but because I am capable of ending your pathetic life where you stand.” she said and got up from her chair.
I watched as she walked towards him like a predator stalking its prey.
The anger in her eyes as she looked at him.
She then put two fingers on his chest and his eyes widened.
I sensed fear and shock.
I don’t know what she was doing to him, but she managed to scare the s**t out of him.
“Do you feel that?
I am turning your blood into acid and there is a lot more I can do.
I can rip your heart out of your chest and make you watch as a squeeze the life out of it.” she said with a smile.
I looked at her and, despite knowing how Taylor was, I was still surprised;
She made a man twice her size and age quiver in fear by just saying a few words.
When she was satisfied, she went and sat down again.
“Your punishment is that you will stay here for two weeks, working and serving us. We will treat you the same way you allow your pack to treat omegas,” Taylor said, and I saw the man nod.
He nodded so fast I would have sworn that his head would come off rolling from his head.
“ Yes, Queen Luna,” he said.
I looked at Ashton and I saw a proud smile on his face.
Knowing Ashton he might have forgiven Kane and let him off with a warning.
But Taylor would never do such a thing.
I smiled when I realised that this is exactly what Blake was talking about.
Taylor is the darkness to Ashton’s light.
Does that mean that once Blake and I are married I will be the light to his darkness?
