6. Please let me go

Nora nervously walked inside Trevor's house and stayed behind Sarah to avoid direct contact with anyone. Everyone was looking at her like she didn't belong, but she already knew that. She quickly scanned the room and recognized some of her school mates. But no James... Thank God. She thought to herself. Maybe she is actually lucky this time, and James is busy doing something somewhere else. She looked over at Sarah and saw her chattering away with a group of kids. Typical Sarah. It has only been five minutes since they arrived, and she already found a group to fit in. She saw Lucy and Ella already in the other room dancing with a couple of guys. Nora wished she could be like her friends and not be so awkward. For once, she wants to be able just to let loose and have fun. She sat down on one of the couches and kept wishing to disappear. This was a bad idea coming here, she thought to herself. She didn't belong here. "Hey." Nora was startled at the sudden greeting and looked to see who was talking to her. She recognized Mason from her Math and English class. He was tall and nicely built with strawberry blonde hair. She always thought he was cute but never had the courage to talk to him. She looked around to make sure he was actually talking to her since he never spoke to her in class. So why was he talking to her now? "Yes, I'm talking to you." Mason smiled as if he knew what she was thinking. "Mind if I sit?" "Yeah...okay," Nora replied quietly. "I meant to talk to you since you came in and finally got the chance." Mason winked playfully. "You were? What for?" Nora was confused. Mason shrugged. "Just thought you were cute. How about I get you a drink, and you can tell me all about yourself?" Nora couldn't believe her ears. Cute? Her? He must be drunk. Mason seemed perfectly sober, though. She still couldn't figure out the reason for his sudden interest. "I don't drink alcohol," Nora said shyly. "We can just talk then," Mason smirked. "I'm Mason." "I know who you are. We have two classes together, you know," Nora said, relaxing a little. "I'm Nora." "Oh shit... my bad. I must've fried my brain drinking too much of this shitty beer. Plus, you look very.... different." Nora smiled. "It's fine, really. I don't mind." "But you do seem interesting, and I'd like to get to know you more. Can I text you sometimes? You don't have to answer right away, but I'd like to, very much." Mason said with a boyish smile on his face as he waited for her answer. Nora was shocked at the sudden attention. She never thought a boy, let alone someone that looks like Mason, would show her any type of interest. Does changing your looks make that much difference? Although her gut told her this might be a bad idea, she couldn't possibly refuse him as she promised herself she would try to be more social and have fun. Besides, Mason seems like a nice guy. "I...I'd like that," Nora replied nervously. Mason looked happy. "Great! Here, I'll type my number in your phone. Just shoot me a text whenever you want. I'll be looking forward to hearing from you." he said and grabbed her phone, then recorded his number. "Thanks, I gotta find my friends," Nora said and got up and started walking around the huge house. The rooms were packed with teenagers, but none of them looked like her friends. She had to tell Sarah about Mason because Sarah always knew the right things to say. A glass of water wouldn't hurt. She thought to herself and headed towards the kitchen. Right, when she was about to turn to the kitchen, she felt a hand grab her arm and pull her towards the hallway next to the kitchen. It was so sudden that she froze and couldn't let out a scream. She felt two muscular arms wrapped around her waist, and she was pressed against the wall. She could only see the chest of her kidnapper at first since he was at least a foot taller. She lifted her face to see who was holding her hostage, and her heart sank. The cold icy eyes staring into her soul belong to none other than the person of her nightmare, James Alexander. No, no, no! Why now all of a sudden? Where did he even come from? She thought she managed to avoid him this whole time. She was already feeling uncomfortable, and now this. "What are you doing, James? Please let me go," she pleaded. She knew her pleas wouldn't work. They never do with him.
