“So the books are to your liking. I’ll take it,” Kent said as soon as he opened the door to Martin’s guest room. In front of him, two of the books in question now sat on the bed between her spread legs as she comfortably leaned her back against the headboard. She held the last one open in her hand with a captivated look in her eyes. Tara’s eyes shifted from the book to Kent. “Truth be told...I would read the manual of a vacuum cleaner right now, just to keep my mind busy. But these are not so bad. Nice pick. Thanks.” She meant it. The books had been a pleasant surprise to find in the room once she woke up. She was still worried about Olivia, but at least the books were interesting enough to help distract her for a few minutes while she waited for an opportunity to escape or negotiate
