An awkward, tense silence filled the room. It felt like the air became too heavy to breathe. She forced her lungs to expand and draw in a deep, shuddering breath. It caused her breast to push forward like an invitation and she saw Martin’s blue eyes flash for a split second. She could have sworn they had glowed unnaturally. Then the man abruptly turned away and stormed out. Tara gave herself a mental shake. She wasn’t sure which one shocked her more. The fact that she had exposed herself in front of Martin or the fact that the man had turned and left the room as though it had suddenly combusted into raging flames, licking at everything and threatening to reduce the room to ash.
