Maddock headed out to the back deck of the condo and gazed down at the water. He took out his phone and called Angel.

Bones had not been wrong about his sister’s tolerance for their unusual career choice—she was every bit as much a free spirit as Maddock, maybe even a little more so. She was currently on a tour promoting an upcoming MMA championship fight in Las Vegas, but even though he knew that she would be okay with him running off to the other side of the world, he wasn’t about to leave her out of the loop.
