Talia stood up from the floor. She wasn't ready to give up yet, she said it wasn't over until it was over, so she was going to try her best to solve the issue at hand. She brought out her phone scanning through it in search of who to call that would come to their aid but she couldn't find any, as the only people she knew were her dad's business associates and Clifford who have shown her that she's on her own.
'Ugh!' She shrugged, flinging her hand on the table beside her. 'Why can't I seem to find anyone to help when I need it the most?' she yelled the rhetorical question.
'Wait, hold on!' She said. 'Attorney Dwayne can help us out, I should call him as soon as possible.' She thought out loud.
She dialed his number severally and he didn't pick, She was devastated.
In that state of defeat she sat on the ground confused, not knowing what to do or who to run to.
Jamal walked in, tapped her shoulder while calling her name.
"Lia," He called out. The look on his face showed great concern.
"Jam," She answered. "Don't worry I got this," She said, forcing a smile.
"No Lia, I'm worried that you are handling this all by yourself. Why are you doing this Lia? You have Jace, Jackie and me to help you out, but you're dying in silence and I hate seeing you in such a state," His concerns were obvious in his voice.
Hearing those words from Jamal broke Talia into tears, as she couldn't hide how she felt anymore.
"Jamal I have failed you all, I tried my best but I couldn't save the house, I'm so sorry for disappointing you and your brothers," She cried.
Jace and Jackie heard Talia's cry and hurried downstairs confused.
"Why is she crying Jam?" Jace asked. "What's the problem Lia?" Came Jackie's question.
"I'm fine, Talia lied again. Come here," She said to the Triplets wiping her tears.
"No you are not fine. Is it about the house? Don't worry about it, I called Miss Lily, she's on her way to come get us. She said we are free to stay with her," Jackie said, trying to console his sister.
"What? You did what?" Talia asked dumbfounded.
"I called miss Lily, Jace said it was okay to call besides she's like family isn't she?" Jackie asked.
"Yes Jackie, I'm like a family to you guys, I practically raised y'all", Lily said walking Into the house. "Have you packed all your stuffs? If yes then go get them," Lilly said to the Triplets.
"Miss Lily," Talia called getting up from the floor. "I…"
"Shush," Lily cut her off. "It's fine Talia, You go get your things as well."
"I'll be forever grateful for this Lily," She hugged her tightly.
"Lily chuckled, c'mon girl now you are going to crush me with your arms," Lilly said playfully.
"I will be right back," Talia said rushing upstairs to get her belongings.
Lily watched how Talia ran and couldn't help but laugh at her. In less than Ten minutes Talia came down with the Triplets and their luggages.
"Miss Lily we are ready," Jace said juggling.
"Easy now Jace, you don't want to hurt yourself before you get to my place," Lily playfully scolds Jace.
"Okay miss Lily," Jace replied happily.
"Talia, are you driving your car or did the bank seize that too?" Lily asked.
"I'm driving Lily, the bank can't seize my car, it's in my name," Talia answered.
"Good, now let's go, we will talk about how to get the house and company back. I'm sure there must be a way out," Lily assured Talia.
"Thank you once again miss Lily, this really means a lot to the triplets and I. What would I have done without you?" Talia asked with a thankful smile.
"That's okay Talia, If I don't do this, your mother would haunt me in my dreams," Lily giggled.
As they left Dempsey's mansion, Talia couldn't help but stop to take another glance at the house one last time before entering her car. She was heartbroken with the thoughts of letting go of her childhood home, tears ran down her eyes freely.
'I promise you dad, I'm going to get this house and the company back, With everything I've got,' She muttered.
As they drove off, the person Clifford sent to keep an eye on her, came out from where he was hiding, gestured hand into his pants pocket and brought out his phone to make a call to Clifford.
"Hello Mr Clifford," The person said, as soon as Clifford answered the phone.
"What's the status of Talia?" Clifford asked.
"A lady came and picked up Talia and the triplets, it seems they are going to be living with her," The person said.
"Is there any information you have about this strange lady you are talking about?" Clifford asked.
"She goes by the name Lily, that's what I heard the Triplets call her," The person answered.
"Hmm, Lily? Oh I remember now, that's their housekeeper, Clifford said. "Now this is what you are going to do, find out everything I need to know about Lily right away, is that clear?"
"Yes Mr Clifford, I will be on it right away."
"Good, and please don't keep me waiting, I don't like to be kept waiting, goodbye," Clifford warned and ended the call.

"Kids wake up, we've arrived," Lily said to the Triplets.
"Ahhhh," they all yawned. "Where is Talia?" Jackie asked.
"She should be pulling up any moment from now, oh there she is," Lily pointing out the window towards Talia car.
The triplets ran out of Lily's car calling out Talia's name.
"Talia,Talia, Talia, what took you so long?" They chorused.
"What? I was only a few seconds behind you guys," She answered giggling.
"Well after what happened to father, we've decided that every second is important and we should make use of it wisely," Jamal said, sounding more mature than his age.
"Awww look at my boys all grown up, come here give Lia a hug," Talia said with a big grin on her face.
"I'm sorry to cut your bonding short, but these bags aren't going to carry themselves into the house," Lily laughed."Besides, we need to prepare dinner."
"Don't worry, Miss Lily, I would help the Triplets carry in their luggage," Talia volunteered.
"That's so nice of you Talia, Alright boys pick up your school bags and let's go into my mini castle," Lily replied, her voice laced with sarcasm.
"Yeah," The triplets yelled in excitement and ran into the house.
"What did I say about running? Talia yelled at the triplets but they ignored her.
"Hmm," She sighed heavily. "This is going to be a hell of a roller coaster," She said, dragging their luggages into the house.
"Talia take the boys luggages to the room by the left side, while yours is at the right side," Lily instructed.
"Wait, I have my own room?" Talia asked, surprised.
"Of course you do Talia, you actually think I'm gonna put you through the stress of sharing the same room with the Triplets?" Lily asked.
"Wow, thank you Lily you are the best!" Talia hugged her with excitement.
"You are welcome once more," Lily said joyfully.
Talia took their luggages to their various rooms and arranged them while Lily prepared dinner. Once she was done she came down and asked the Triplets to go take their bath before dinner.
"Jamal, Jace and Jackie, you guys need to take your shower before dinner," She ordered.
"Can't we eat our dinner first before we take our bath?" Jamal asked.
"No Jamal, you take your bath first. Besides I expected such silly questions from either Jace or Jackie, not you," Talia scolded him.
"Fine." Jamal stood up and walked grumpily to the room he shared with his brothers.
Jace and Jackie were still seated at the dinning table when Talia gave them an intent glare without saying a word.
"Fine, we will go too," Jace said, cause he knew what Talia's stare meant even without her saying a word.
"I thought so too," Talia said and started eating her dinner.
The Triplets rushed down after bathing to eat their dinner. Once they were done they said their good night pleasantries to Lily and Talia, gave them both kisses on their checks and they went to bed as they had to wake up early for school the next day.
Talia picked up the plates they used for dinner into the sink and started washing them. She was so engrossed in them or should I say she was lost in her thoughts. Lily took notice of it and decided to say some words to cheer her up.
"Talia you are a strong woman, I admire your strength," Lily said trying to take Talia's mind, off whatever that was bothering, her.
"Huh?" Talia asked.
"I wish I was as strong as you. You know sometimes I wonder if you are truly nineteen, cause you are more mature than your age," Lily complimented her.
"Thanks for your kind words Lily, I needed to hear this. After losing the house, I couldn't help but think I have disappointed my parents," Talia complained.
"No Talia you shouldn't think that way, your parents would be proud of the kind of lady you have turned out to be. I mean look at the way you handled the situation with, your dad's accident and all, I don't think I would be as strong as you if it were to be me," Lily cheered for her.
"Thank you very much Lily," Talia said, hearing those words from, Lily help calmed her nerves a little bit.
"You are welcome, now finish up the dishes and go to bed, tomorrow is going to be a busy day for you," Lily advised.
"Busy day?" Talia asked, confused.
"You're going for job hunting aren't you? Was it not what you told the Triplets or am I tripping?" Lilly asked.
"Oh that, I actually forgot," Talia said putting her hands on her forehead. I pray I see something suitable for me, anything is fine by me…" As she was about to continue, her phone beeped, it was a message from Attorney Dwayne. She picked up the phone and read the content in it.
"Hi Talia, I'm sorry I missed your calls. I was stuck up in a meeting with a client. When you see my message please do call back or text," Dwayne said in his message.
"Who's that from?" Lilly asked
"It's from my dad's Attorney, I called him earlier when all the ruckus were going on but he didn't pick so he just messaged me,"Talia responded.
"Oh I see! you know what? I just thought of an idea," Lily sounding optimistic.
"Which is?" Talia asked.
"Why not give him a call in the morning and ask if he has a job vacancy at his law firm, you never can tell you might be lucky," Lily suggested.
"You are right Miss Lily thank you so much, I'll do that first thing in the morning," Talia sounded excited. It was like, a burdened was released from her shoulders.
"Good luck and Good night miss Talia," Lily said and went to her room for the night.
Once Talia was done washing the plates, she couldn't help but feel grateful and delighted.
"Few hours ago the triplets and I were almost homeless, but now we have a roof over our heads. God I stopped believing in you when I lost my mother to cancer but I'm grateful you came through for me and my brothers," She said with a thankful heart and went to her room.
